After a surprise encounter with SAKUI, Yazoo learned of the unspeakable truth about the Intergalactic War between SAKUI and JENBU. After reporting the news to JENOVA, Yazoo and SAKUI barely dodged an intermittent molten ground that temporarily manifested itself in reaction to JENOVA's anger. Yazoo immediately knew JENOVA was on the verge of burning anger and was deeply concerned. Hoping to find a way to prevent JENOVA Kingdom from becoming a burning pit, Yazoo proceeded the mission to defeat JENBU together with SAKUI and the rest of the Divine Guard to protect the kingdom.
Chapter 20: The Fury, Part 2
(This section will focus on Sephieroth as the speaker) I had stopped above the ground when i saw the it shake and turn into molten brimstone and then back to normal. I gasped as i landed, then said "Oh no..." I knew what just happened and why. What i didn't know was what enraged our Beloved Mother, but despite that i made haste to find and help her. I flew back up, then said "Hold on, Mother! I'm coming for you!" I fired up my JENOVA cells and my flight speed increased. I used my powers to locate Mother, and flew to the location as fast as i could. Within seconds, i found her resting in her throne atop Mako Reactor Peak, and landed in front of her. When i glanced at her, she was crying in silent sadness and fury. I also began to feel sad and approached her. Reaching both arms out to her, i started "Mother, whats wrong..?" I noticed i was also sobbing. She answered "Sephie, go after him.... and destroy him!" She had amazing control with her tone despite her obvious hurt. I asked "Who? SAKUI..?" Mother shook her head and closed her eye, then said "No... JENBU. Destroy JENBU." I couldn't believe what she just said and faltered back in shock. I started "What?! Kill... Father?!" Mother seemed to sneer and opened her eye, then said "He's not one of us, my child.... he betrayed us from the start." This was too much for me to take in at once. I barely made out "Mother, are you saying.... do you mean..." Mother's eye was booming with fury. She began "Goodbye, JENBU: exile!!" Her eye flashed brilliantly and her lifestream reacted instantly. I turned to gaze at the kingdom below, and her lifestream extended to the Planet's surface. Oh no, i thought, not the JENOVA Lifestream's self-destruct sequence! However, i quickly saw that wasnt what was happening. The energy went from the surface to just in the sky before long; and i saw it take someone with it who looked a lot like Mother. I figured it had to be JENBU. He groaned in loud rage and pain as he looked our way. He shouted "How do you know?! How the heck do you know!!" Mother stood up and floated towards him, maintaining her angry face. She answered "Because i always find out what's going on. You were foolish enough to lie to me about everything that day, and even more foolish for setting foot in my kingdom as the traitor you are. Now you'll have to suffer the consequences for all of it, whether you like or not." JENBU kept his expression hard and said "What about Sephiroth? If you seal me in your lifestream, he wont have a father anymore!" Mother paused in silence, then answered "He will have a father, JENBU. A real father: not a liar like you. You may be the birth father so to speak, but you acted nothing like a true father would. Because of your lies, he has suffered more than you could ever imagine. Your lies have left him with a burden for countless years: the burden of keeping SAKUI away and losing a father. Yet all this time, it was you he should've kept away from us! I have more than enough reason to exile you!" JENBU seemed fearful but forced himself not to show it. I wondered why he wouldn't move but realized Mother was binding him with the power of her lifestream. He was clearly trying to break free but it was useless; she was too strong. Having a sudden change of emotion, JENBU smiled and laughed a bit, then started "And how can you hope to do that to someone as powerful as me?" Mother giggled, then said "With help from some of my strongest children." Out of nowhere, i saw Yazoo, Sephiroth, Loz, and Tifa appear beside me. JENBU watched in disbelief and groaned angrily but didn't speak. Loz was the first to step forward and appeared to be in tears, then started "I wont let you get away with what you did to Mother..!" Tifa followed him, getting into a fighting stance and added "I wont let my Brother go through this without my help!" Yazoo stepped up next, and added "I cant believe you did this. What kind of rat tricks Mother?" Sephiroth was the last to step up and said "I agree with Yazoo. You caused this mess, and now you must suffer the Ultimate Sacrifice to pay for it." I walked just ahead of everyone else and said "I didn't want it to end this way, JENBU. But I'm afraid thats how it goes this time." Forcing his fear aside, he started "Do you all even know how to perform the Reverse Reunion?" He laughed a bit, but i interrupted and answered "Of course we do! How could we protect the kingdom without being prepared for anything?" I smiled at him and he gasped in disbelief. I gently lifted my arm up, and summoned Perfect WEAPON. I giggled as he slowly descended from high above. He floated in the air just behind us. JENBU cried out "Nooo! Thats..! How did you even get the formula for the Perfect WEAPON?!!" I smiled and said "You can thank Brother Rufus for helping with that." JENBU was angry and frustrated beyond control now; he was rambling in rage so fast i couldn't even understand everything. I started "This will never end... lets just start the attack already." Everyone laughed and got focused. I began "WEAPON, lock the lifestream so we dont drain it!" WEAPON replied "Im on it!" He immediately obeyed. Mother turned to face all of us and said "Be careful with the Reverse Reunion, my children. One mistake and you're done for!" We kept our spirits strong despite the deadly consequences of error. Mother continued "Follow me to him. By all costs, be as precise as you can. I need each of you to use your weapon for this to work. Tifa, just use those iron fists of yours. I need each of you to surround JENBU completely and jab him with your weapons as hard as you can. From there, it will be easy for me to activate the attack. Do not release your attack until he fades completely. Does everyone understand?" We each nodded without speaking. Mother flew out towards JENBU who was still hopelessly struggling. Before doing anything else, she looked him directly in the eye and touched his headgear with two fingers. She giggled sweetly and JENBU seemed to go unconscious as though he was overwhelmed by something. His struggling went to standstill. Mother flew behind him and released the bindings on him. We each floated towards where he was floated motionless and did exactly as she ordered, one at a time. To my amazement, JENBU twitched but didn't wake up. I wondered if Mother used her powers to lock him in a deep sleep of some sort. It sure seemed that way. Mother's entire being began to shine a silver light as JENBU began to wither into her lifestream. I waited in desperate silence, hoping he wouldn't wake up and jerk us off of him. Several minutes passed, but he still didn't move. He wasnt noticeably withered either, but he did seem to soften up mildly. This man has a lot of JENOVA cells, i suddenly thought, realizing how slowly he withered. Was it even possible to complete the Reverse Reunion on someone with as much as this? But then again, Mother wouldn't tell us to do this if it was impossible. Out of nowhere, JENBU's eye opened and he knocked us all away with his katana. Mother was also caught off guard, but recovered quickly and flew in front of us to protect us. JENBU began defiantly "I will not let you seal me, JENOVA!" We all stood back up and carefully turned to face JENBU. Sephiroth stammered "That's... its impossible!" Loz cried "He resisted?! But.... how?!" Mother answered "If i cant keep him asleep long enough, we have no choice but to weaken him as much as we can. He's too powerful to seal without weakening first." Tifa sighed and said "Go figures.... i knew that was too easy." I turned around to face everyone and said "I know that was hard to swallow, everyone... but we can't give up. If we don't fight him, no one else will. What about SAKUI? If Mother dies, how would he feel? Is letting this False Father get the last laugh the right choice?" Yazoo replied first "Of course it isn't. If we give up this fight, we're giving up on Mother; and who should be considered our real father since the beginning." Sephiroth smiled at Yazoo as though agreeing with everything he said. Loz seemed to shed tears but grew hard and said "I would never do that! How would Mother even think about choosing someone who chickens out?" Tifa gave Loz a friendly slap on the back and said "That's the spirit, Brother. To face an enemy regardless of its power, and fight with all you've got for what's right... thats what being Mother's children is all about. This is Princess Sephieroth's message to the family, and that is why she's Family Hero: her attitude towards protecting Mother and her Divine Legacy. That's why she's a true leader." I smiled at everyone and said "Let's give it all we've got! Mother is counting on us to do our best. Maybe JENBU is very powerful, maybe even strong enough to destroy the kingdom.... but that doesn't make him invincible! Every enemy has a weakness: don't ever forget that!" I noticed Yazoo gazing at me sweetly, and i smiled back. Turning back to face JENBU, I called out "WEAPON, sweep through and release!" He obeyed, coming back behind us and letting go of Mother's lifestream. As i expected, he gave JENBU a hard crash on the way. JENBU winced in pain and shouted "Ow! Watch where you're going!" I noticed he had an arm missing where WEAPON had bumped him, but it also regenerated within seconds proving useless. I could hear WEAPON laughing behind us. I knew he loved to play rough, so i purposefully told him to do that. WEAPON may be a bit arrogant and demanding, but he was extremely loyal to me when things were serious like this. If it was a fight we could not afford to lose, he knew not to be difficult. The final battle was just beginning.
