Pokemon Sun/Moon: Adventures in Kanto. Chapter 3

Wonderfully different. she said so surprised. Thanks to the salon in town, Lusamine's hair was
trimmed and tamer than not two hours ago. The first thing Lillie noticed was her mother's eyes:
bright jewels painted with a warm expression... It struck her that she hadn't seen Lusamine's
eyes so clearly until recently. Her clothes were also different; she wore a light sun dress with
embroidered jewelry around the neck. She was also wearing platform heels.
"Ah, well that's good, I thought you'd say I looked silly." Lusamine chuckled in relief. When
Lillie's turn came, she described her various encounters with the people as well as the pokemon
she saw. She chuckled about how she met one girl named Nina before arriving to the Pokecenter.
Whether Lusamine was actually interested in Lillie's story was hard to tell for certain, but she
listened regardless. "... Sounds interesting, Lillie." She finally spoke, "I'm glad you're
enjoying yourself."
"Thank you." Lillie nodded. "Oh, how was the salon?" she asked, interested in Lusamine's
brief time away.
"It was very nice. Heh, one of the salon girls turned white as a ghost when I stepped inside." Lusamine
chuckled once more, "They were surprised that 'Ms. Lusamine of the Aether foundation came
for a haircut.'"
"Oh right! I forgot you're a celebrity." Lillie giggled in amusement.
"Hopefully that won't interfere with our trip... Speaking of which, the day's still young, would
you like to see more of Kanto? We'll need to find a hotel in Saffron city anyway."
Sure! That would be great! was what she wanted to answer, but then she remembered grimly
Lusamine's current predicament; Wicke advised Lusamine not to strain herself, otherwise she would
suffer from symptoms akin to vertigo. "Dizzy spells" for short. She asked now cautiously, "Are
you sure you're alright though?"
"Don't worry Lillie." Lusamine began to stretch in comfort. "I feel great today, like I could
scale an entire mountain and back."
"Please don't push yourself." Lillie spoke quietly, but loud enough for Lusamine to hear.
"... Lillie, I truly appreciate that you're concerned for me." Lusamine spoke trying to reasure
her. "Don't worry, I'll be okay today. I know my limits." her words weren't enough to ease Lillie's
mind but she would take her word... For now, at least.
"... Well alright, as long as you feel up to it."

They eventually found their way to the bus stop. Lucky for them, Lillie anxiously let Lusamine sit
down first; If Lusamine was starting to get a little annoyed with Lillie's sudden overbarence,
she didn't show it. They both sat down, waiting for the bus to come alive and carry them to Saffron
city, then it slowly lurched forward before gaining a steady path ahead. Scilence stood between them
again, but it wasn't a bad scilence. We'll find other things to do in the city. Lillie thought to
herself. Her thoughts drifted along the running landscape; the grass and trees but a blur of colors
through the bus window. She wanted to become a Poketrainer, but where would she start? What Pokemon
would be best in her situation? Would she know as soon as she was met one? And how on earth do you
find one without already having one? She began thinking of Alola, she couldn't help but think of
her friends back home. She would certainly try to keep in touch with them, especially with a boy
named Hau - who seemed the most surprised by her departure.
I'll have to send a letter, a really Really long letter. She remembered him saying... She
hoped he wasn't too hurt because of her leaving.
"Something wrong, Lillie?" Lusamine asked, sending her back into the present.
"Oh, nothing. I was just thinking about home." Lillie answered. She decided to table her thoughts
about being a Poketrainer. She knew when coming here she was going to live out her new dream, but
she will make sure Lusamine gets the help she needs. Lillie looked ahead to see the tallest building
of Saffron city.

After what almost felt like another eternity, the bus stoped in Saffron city. They both exited
behind the others on board. The noises of traffic were much more noisy than back in Vermilion
city, various engines growled and purred passing before them. Lillie could see the tallest building
much more clearly now, the windows reflected the sky and its clouds like a giant mirror. She checked
Lusamine briefly to make sure she is well, then they walked to the city.

They began exploring Saffron City. They made regular stops in front
of various stores and landmarks; There was a resturaunt owned by a Gym leader named Blaine, it was
famous for hosting fun quizes - Lillie read that Blaine was very fond of quizing, maybe it was
something about how he likes to enlighten people. There was a statue out front: he was sitting atop
his Rappidash, as a Magmar sat behind him. It was gifted to him from the city. He was so touched by
it, he set the statue in front of his resturaunt. She took a photo of his statue. It was a pretty
silly statue; from the picture Lillie saw of him, his statue looked more impressive there than he
did in person. Lusamine had also found it amusing. "Such an impressive statue." she snickered
in amazement. "Those other trainers sure did admire him." Lillie agreed, it really is a good statue.
Albeit a bit goofy, but its still a good statue. Lillie would love to visit this resturaunt at some
point.

The sky started glowing orange. Lillie stopped by an outdoor cafe with Lusamine, they both needed
to stop for a quick drink; as well as a break from walking all through the city. Their next plan was
to find a hotel to stay the night. Lusamine asked a stranger if he knew where a hotel was, he said
there was one near them by two blocks. Lillie agreed that they may as well stay there for tonight.
Lillie got up and did a brief stretch to ready her sore legs for further walking. "I'm certainly
looking forward to laying on a bed." She spoke while rotating her sholders.
"Yeah, me t-... Uugh." Suddenly, Lusamine groaned uncomfortably, she leaned back, gripping the
chair for support.
Oh no! a Dizzy spell Lillie thought while running to Lusamine, offering a hand to keep her
from hurting herself.
"Ugh... Sorry Lillie, I just got up too fast." Lusamine spoke through a painfully shaky voice.
"Hey, it's alright... Just take it slowly, I'll see about finding a good hotel. Can you move okay?"
"Y-yes, I can walk for a while. Thank you..." Lillie helped her to her feet. She kept a hand on her
to ensure Lusamine didn't lose balance. Lillie took the lead as they both made their way to the next
block. Lusamine is keeping it together as best as she can all throughout, Lillie hoped to find this
hotel sooner than later. They had to stop a moment before Lusamine would faint from dizziness.
"Haaah... Just need a second, Lillie." She sighed, leaning on a street lamp. Lillie looked ahead
to assess their surrounding, Lusamine taking a deep breath before standing again. Lillie saw a
sign with a Slackoth on the front, under it was the words "Inn" glowing in solid white colors.
She quickly pointed toward it for Lusamine to see as she took her hand. "We're not that far now,
just a few more steps." She urged. Lusamine nodded and began walking accross the street to the
neon glowing Slackoth.

Once inside, a chimey bell rang to their entrance alerting the lady up front. "Welcome to the
Slackoth Inn ladies." She bowed politely.
"D- do you have a room open?" Lusamine said an a faintly shaky voice. She was trying very hard
to stay concentrated. The clerk looked through a monitor briefly before answering.
"Luckily a room just opened up for you two. Usually, we're all booked when the tourists-"
"Two beds right?" Lusamine spoke with a polite urgency. The girl sounded surprised by the
interruption.
"Y-... Yes, there's two beds. Now how would you like to pay?" she asked
"Can-... Sorry, I swear I'll pay you tomorrow morning. You can hold me to that."
"Ma'am, I'm afraid I can't just let you in without a payment up front. We have a strict policy-"
"Ugh!" Lusamine keeled over, feeling worse than outside the coffee shop. Lillie held onto
her waist, trying to help her stay upright. "Please..." Lusamine begged. "I just need rest."
They weren't sure if the lady actually felt sorry for Lusamine, but she reached for the key
to their room and handed it to them.
"Here, your room is just up the first set of stairs. Well sort out your fee when you're feeling
better." She said to them. Lillie thanked her as she took the key with her down the hall.

The door unlocked easily. Lusamine positioned herself on the bed to ease the twist in her
stomach, the dizziness usually upset her stomach most occasions. "Aaah... Haaah... I can't
believe this happened again..." Lusamine moaned in her pillow. "I was careless... I celebrated
our arrival too hard."
"Don't worry about it, mother." Lillie reasured her. "Just try to get some rest for now."
Lusamine grunted as she turned to her left side, she didn't want to bother responding to
Lillie... Not at this time. It troubled Lillie to see her plagued by such nasty head spinning,
it reminds her back in Alola when she brought Lusamine back to the Aether foundation. She was
still asleep, even when they traveled all the way back to the floating paradise. No one could
bring her out of it, she was in such a deep trance that it wasn't likely she was going to wake up.
Lillie was scared that she was going to sleep her years away like an old story she heard once.
However, Lusamine did come out of it, and Lillie was filled with such joy seeing her mother awake
again. She climbed in her own bed, tired and worried. Mother... I will do everything I can. Just
hold on. Please...
She reached for her mother's hand to hold gently. It wouldn't be enough to ease
her pain, but it was all Lillie could do for comforting her. Lusamine returned the gesture by
squeezing back.
Lillie sat in her bed looking at the ceiling. Sleep wasn't coming as easily for her
as it did for Lusamine, she was much too worried what tomorrow would bring. But she eventually
slipped into a dreamless sleep.
