Chapter 7

“Well, how was meditation?” Fortis asked as I stepped out of the classroom.

“I won’t lie, it was rejuvenating. Helped to brush off my anger.” I checked my schedule again. Okay, so I have lunch next.

“That reminds me, why were you mad earlier?” Fortis asked and although I knew he was asking innocently, my anger still came back tenfold.

“Hey guys! Hey Forza, your eyes are glowing.” Igna remarked as she approached us. I toned my anger down a bit.

“Igna! Can you help me out here? Forza won’t tell me why she’s mad.” Fortis asked. I looked at him like he was an idiot, but his back was to me.

“Well, what were you talking about when she got mad?”

“We were discussing how to get into the PRT and how tough the Elite Four would be for her to beat.” Igna’s eyes widened and she smacked him upside the head.

“You dolt! Of course, she’s mad!” She pulled him closer and whispered something into his ear. He face-palmed himself at his stupidity.

“I’m so sorry, Forza. I forgot. Should we get something to eat?” I uncrossed my arms and nodded. I may not have been completely un-cross, but his sincerity softened me up enough to smile.

“Yeah, if this is anything like my school cafeteria, it’s going to be good.” I didn’t understand why people thought the school cafeterias served bad food. It was actually pretty good. I felt a pang of homesickness, but didn’t show it.

“Don’t worry Forza, Ms. Bin is an amazing cook!” Aurum snuck up behind me and I flinched. Vulpi was at his side and she chuckled.

“If you don’t fix that jumping problem, everyone’s going to want to scare you just for the heck of it.”

“You mean like this?” Velox said. It was their turn to jump. I laughed.

“I’m liking this group even more everyday! How many of you are in the PRT?” I asked. Aurum and Velox raised their hands/paws.

“We are. Why do you ask?” I ignored Aurum’s question and continued my interrogation.

“Is it worth it? Do you ever do anything fun?” Velox tilted his head in a cute puppy-dog way.

“Why do you want to know? You know you don’t have a chance against the Elite Four, right?” I shrugged.

“I guess so. Doesn’t hurt to ask.” We got our food, which was a buffet of Chinese food, from a Miltank and sat down at an empty table. I was about to take a drink from my milk carton when Aurum said something.

“You’ll like the milk; it’s fresh from the source.” My gaze flickered to the Miltank and the guys laughed. Igna rolled her eyes.

“Don’t mind them. They’re kidding. It’s kind of a joke between bases. You’d be surprised by how many bases have Miltanks for lunch ladies.” She explained. I took a long swig of chocolate milk and set the empty carton down.

“So, what do you guys have next?” I asked. Vulpi had to work in the infirmary, Aurum and Velox had PRT Training, and everyone else had Battle Training with me.

“That reminds me, here’s your excusal note from Ms. Clearwater. Coach Loch should excuse you from using your moves.” Vulpi handed me a pink slip of paper. Sure enough, it had Ms. Clearwater’s signature on it and a description of my condition. It was a very vague description, but a satisfactory one.

“Thanks, Vulpi. I really appreciate this.”

“It’s what I do for my friends.” She smiled. I smiled back. I suddenly had a spark of genius.

“Hey Vulpi, is there any way to go against the Elite Four with my condition?”

This chapter is a bit confusing
Interesting... I probably shouldn't ask, but... Was the Miltank a pocket monster, machine or human?
If human, or if pokemon
are the people:
That joke's kinda messed up, lol!

(Then again, I probably should read from the beginning...)

Yeah, reading from the beginning would help. I got the joke from the original story.
