Very brief Steam adventure

Very brief Steam adventure

So... After hearing so much about Steam I decided to see what the fuss was all about. There seemed to be a lot going on so I figured the time had finally come to make an account. Especially since my new laptop still has a terrabyte of free space waiting to be filled. :D I created and account and installed Steam.

There was some security message about keeping your account safe- blahblahblah and then I decided to go to the store and have a look. I was quite overwhelmed. So overwhelmed in fact, I closed the window and uninstalled Steam.

It's just, there is a huge community and SO MANY games to choose from and so much to do and no newbie help whatsoever. I guess I should have googled for a starter guide but I didn't. Why did I uninstall? I don't know. Ugh. I feel quite stupid now, but I guess that with all the unfinished and barely touched games on my 3DS and all the mobile games on my phone I don't really need Steam...

Does anyone have great advice?

Yes! Get CS:GO on Steam. I also highly recommend Firewatch because I like open-world mystery games.

Eh, I don't like shooters. I love RPGs and puzzle but I tend to die (a LOT) in platformers and shooters. I play for the story&fun and I don't find much of that in most shooters. :-/
Steam has a plethora of games, more than some of us could even imagine. And for a place with soooooo many games, it's gotta have a community with soooooo many people. I believe there's at least one person per game who's like a complete god/expert at the game, probably after playing that game for so many years >.<

I don't use STEAM much, probably only got Undertale and that's it >.>

I wanted to get steam just for Undertale. :) So maybe I still will.
Don't worry dude, the large number of games to choose from is why it's so amazing! First of all, take a look at the Free-to-Play games (some real gems, like Team Fortress 2) and the ones on sale (generally if there's not a big summer/winter/halloween sale, only buy a game if it's 80%+ off). You can also sort the games by reviews, so stuff like Portal, Garry's Mod and BattleBlock Theatre will come up. Just take a bit of time and look around at the games, see what you like and before you know it, you'll love it. There are some great PC exclusives, indies (better on PC than 3DS) and 3rd party games (that you won't really be able to love on Nintendo consoles, unless it's LEGO).

I know, that's why I installed it in the first place. But I'm really picky with my games and choosing just the right ones from so many... Well, let's say I'm just not ready. xD (My computer totally is, so perhaps someday)
Don't keep Steam. It's a control freak system >.<)/
