Any thoughts about Tokusatsu?

Tokusatsu (特撮, Special filming in Japanese), is a genre that is well known to use special effects. Usually films or TV series of this genre provide kaijuu/monsters like the infamous Godzilla among others. Some other Toku films/shows would also involve heroes fighting against evildoers, with some notable examples including Power Rangers (and Super Sentai), Kamen Rider and Ultraman.

What do you think about Tokusatsu in general? Do you have any fave Toku shows?

I friggin love the art! Particularly the Godzilla films. (Sure they're cheesy, but that's the point tho isn't it?)

For me, Tokusatsu is one interesting genre that it was popular even when I was a kid, so basically I grew up watching one of those. In my childhood, I find myself watching Power Rangers along with some Super Sentai. However, I didn't take any interest of Ultraman series until I watched some random episodes of Ultraman Cosmos in TV.

Some other Toku shows that I watched includes Gransazer, Justiriser, and Kamen Rider Black which was dubbed as Ksatria Baja Hitam (it means the black-steel warrior).
