Blazblue Cross Tag battle is a 2v2 2D fighting game crossover (kinda like Street Fighter X Tekken) with characters from the Blazblue series, P4 Arena, RWBY, and Under Night In-Birth.

Many fans were mad to hear that the game will launch with 20 characters and 20 more being paid DLC.

This article here from
Destructoid addresses the concern fans have by saying,
“Mori [,the producer,] sees things differently. In the interview, he suggests that the base game of BCTB will have a reduced price-point of ¥5,800 (or $53/£37) with the idea being that once the player has purchased the further 20 DLC characters, they should, in total, have only paid a similar price to a full retail game.” (Moyse).

Although it’s still a Jerky move, do you think it’s good enough to compensate for the lack of launch characters or do you think there needs to be more done?

Blazblue Cross Tag Battle launches on PS4 and Switch on May 31(JPN) and internationally on June 5.

There has been a load of characters (53 characters total after the second wave) and slightly more content with the DLC and added story. Great to play with friends but there is enough variety from the base game to just snatch that sale and only play with the good variety of non-meme characters (by meme I mean tank). If I were to compare to a game like Smash besides extra tutorials for every character it didn't add gameplay unless you wanted to fight as/against those characters specifically but you can just do that online. I mean yeah it took a lot of work for the animations/attacks but thinking about it I'd prefer the novelty of the luxury of less characters. You are getting ripped off when it comes to price of DLC. However there is those people who can just never buy DLC and it would be well worth it. It depends on who you hang out with. There is a trade-off.
