Recently, I have been interested in buying a 3DS once I get back from camp. I checked out a few from the local Disc Replay in my town and they were cheaper, even if they were used and a bit scuffed. Are their 3Ds systems reliable, or would I be better with buying a new one? And does it come with everything(the charger, stylus, SD card) or would I be buying just the system?

I didn't have the chance to ask anyone while I was there because they were all busy and I had a time limit.

I don't know about this retail since I live in France, but, generally, if it's a 3DS XL, the charger is not included. But I have noticed that some of my USB cables could recharge it (figured it there was a few weeks ago.)

But buying a new one is always a good choice too. They can be expensive (depending on where you live), but it's always worth it, especially when Nintendo does promotions (Super Mario 3D Land one, Pokémon X/Y one for example...), because generally they might have used the Club Nintendo code, or you won't get it at all if you buy an used system.

I know that if you buy a 3DS XL in Europe, it does not come with the charger. That's pointless, as you get the system but can't power it up again.

Well, that's true. When I bought my 3DS, I had no charger. Luckily enough, my mother (who was in charge of getting my 3DS) also bought a charger. But, at first, I was still like: "Damn it, Nintendo ! Why can't you sell the system with the charger ?"
