Do you miss Swapnote?

Well, it's been a long time, been a long time, been a long lonely lonely lonely lonely time ( :p ) since Nintendo discontinued the Spotpass function of Swapnote -because a single user of the service was an idiot -, and because pretty much all of us used the Spotpass function only, I think we all deleted it or at the very least, stopped using it.

Do you miss Swapnote? Do you miss sending hilarious drawings and messages in your own handwriting to your 3DS friends?

I do. I was depending upon Swapnote to keep in touch with some online friends, and now that's not possible anymore because the Spotpass function was discontinued so suddenly. Also, it gave more meaning to and was actually a prerequisite for the 3DS Friends function.

It wasn't the most efficient system for sending messages to 3DS friends, but still, it was there and it worked.

I love to send a birthday or Christmas card to my online friends, since it's cute to replay your scribble being drawn step to step. And I lost contact with a friend since her Twitter isn't active anymore and this feature has been shut down, so I don't know how to reach her :cry:
 
I miss swapnote so much. I miss sending @Marc Hilarious drawings and receiving some good ones from him. I'd really love it if Nintendo brings back the service with some decent security features for children.

I loved it. i loved to collect all the backgrounds and be able to say good morning to people every day XD. also it was niced if one person decided to quite the only game where you chated then you could chat on this instead. i had deleted mine after the 2nd month of it not coming back i wish i had not though because i had some cool drawings on there. i hope that nintendo brings this back.
 
Forget Swapnote for a sec! What about Flipnote?!:cry: Flipnote was the stuff back then, it made me laugh, cry, afraid, and also lead me to anticipate the wondrous new flipnotes the creators had in store. It was like an instant animation heaven. Everything was fine til the nintendo nation policies attacked.
 
Well, I didn't got to enjoy Swapnote unfortunately, but I think it might have been a nice feature. But as @Spinnerweb said, it's because one guy acted as a jerk that we can longer use it. It's sad. Hopefully, if Nintendo were to reboot something like this (which is sadly unlikely), it would use the Nintendo Network and ban the idiots who would do that.


@Copycat Gemini: I knew somebody who had it on her DSi, and it looked nice. If only Nintendo could finally manage to post a release date for this >_< (Because the still 'TBD' thing for over a year let us suppose that either they are lazy, either they won't release it here).

Flipnote Studio has been announced ever since the 3DS came out in 2011, but hasn't arrived. It's been 3 years and I'm convinced it will never actually be released for reasons Nintendo didn't tell anyone, though I (and lots of people at that) emailed them a long time ago about it.

I did use it regularly every now and then to keep in touch to some online friends, and I do actually miss it a little... It was stupid that one person ruined it for us. It was a great feature! With all that said, I no longer have swapnote

Miss it I do not as I barely used it and when I did it was between forum members (which was so rare I didn't care). But it was a great tool (if there was no sharing of photos or sounds) for getting in touch as it was basically texting in digital writing form (the ink limit was kinda bad as you had to write small to get as many words on as possible). It was interesting but I think Nintendo will learn from this and they will stick to Miiverse for now (which is stuffed with juveniles, for at least the popular games like Smash and Pokemon, artists, and a few Nintendo staff.) I did like to play around on it though.

I really don't. I got over 200 messages at a time and it was a pain only being able to get 20 at once. Plus it was barebones at best and it just didn't appeal to me. Flipnote 3D doesn't either considering how I greatly disliked the DSi version and only was interested in the 3DS version to see the new interface, but since that's pretty much canceled at this point it doesn't seem to matter either. Thankfully Miiverse is here to help us connect to other players.

I miss Swapnote a lot just because of nintendo discontinuing the spotpass feature.. Due to that no one can continue chatting with people they don't meet for a long time...

I really do miss SwapNote :( I used to like it to send SwapNote Messages to my Friend across the World and surprise him with those Messages. I love the designs you put on your Messages so it matches if you send them during a Birthday or Holiday. I miss it... :(

I wish the Pictochat stage coming back for SSB4 on the 3DS was changed to a new stage based on Swapnote

well i never got a chance to use it but it would have been really handy as i have many friends across the world that i play pokemon with (i move quite ) and it would have been handy to negotiate trades and stuff like that :)

I miss Swapnote like crazy. I used it all the time. I wish it didn't get pulled like that altogether for such a silly reason. Surely they could have limited access towards the people responsible for the actions only? I continue to have it on my 3DS, not that I use it, but it had some value to me with my experiences.

I use it everyday... before. well... it's a free app! I didn't delete it, but i don't use it these day. I reaally miss it, it was a great thing.

For me I never really used it but I hoped that I could have used it when it Nintendo did not closed or shut it down and I missed everything about it making good pictures and more but they had to stop the thing what was happening so.

I didn't know it is discontinued. I still use to a week ago. Never get other's swapnote or sending swapnote to people.
Wouldn't say I missed it. I just the how it shows my step-by-step drawing.
