Does Knock Off work on Primal Groudon?

I was battling @Amit0603 earlier today and he had a Primal Groudon. I didn't want to take the risk of using Knock Off without it removing Groudon's item to change it to its regular form.

So does the move "knock off" work on Primal Groudon to change it back to normal Groudon?

I know Knock Off doesn't work on Mega Stones or Z-Moves, so I don't see why it would work on the Red/Blue orbs.

No, it doesn't work on form changes where the item becomes part of the mon, for instance, Arceus would be forced back to normal type and take the 130bp hit, while things like Giri-O, Pdon, and megas would take the 65bp hit and retain their forms as if they had no item to begin with.
