Final Fantasy Explorers coming to Japan this summer, plus first gameplay footage

Square Enix announced during today’s Japanese third-party Nintendo 3DS Direct that Final Fantasy Explorers will be arriving this winter in Japan. There’s no word as of yet whether the game will be localised, but we could be in for a long wait. Anyway, enjoy the first gameplay footage of the latest Final Fantasy title for Nintendo 3DS.

What are your thoughts on this game? Should it be localized outside of Japan? Do you like the gameplay footage? Let me know in the replies below.

Me too. This resembles FInal Fantasy 7: Crisis Core on the PSP in terms of it's 3rd person battling style.

Just as I thought, this game looks similar to Monster Hunter/Final Fantasy XII: just with Magic, better controls, and a faster pace in battle! Imagine, Monster Hunter but with Magic and an amazing storyline .. This game needs to come over to NA/EU, I'm super excited!!

Yes, so am I! I hope Nintendo doesn't crush our dreams by not localizing this game. But I know for a fact that they will localize this. The uproar by the fans will surely cause them to consider the localization.

Yup, I think Square Enix trademarked it in Europe or North America (can't remember at this moment) so I think we should look forward to this game in 2015!

After watching the trailer, this game looks great! It looks like a more colorful Monster Hunter with magic as well as traditional weapons. I have never played Final Fantasy, but this looks like something that I will buy if it gets localized (and meets my expectations, which it has so far).

It sure does look like a Monster Hunter game, but if you have played Final Fantasy: Crisis Core, you are bound to love this.
