Ok PARKOUR.....,.... Owww ;(
Ok I will be reviewing Sonic Lost World 3DS today and boy did I have a frustrating time with this game
Plot:
Sonic and Tails were chasing after their nemesis Dr. Eggman who was seen flying away in his Eggomatic with a capsule full of critters that we've been familiar with since 1991, in an attempt to save these critters Sonic tries to homing attack the capsule but unfortunately missed but safetly got back on the Tornado, with Eggman, Orbot and Cubot choosing tho shoot down the Tornado Sonic and Tails get hit and they crash into the Lost Hex. Then Sonic stumbles across Eggman and some new foes known as the Deadly Six , these six foes are being under control via Eggmans Conch Shell and when Sonic thinks that he will save the day by destroying the shell, Eggman tells him the shell kept the Zeti from going berserk and then the Deadly Six break free and attack Tails, Sonic, Eggman ,Orbot ,and decapitated Cubot, and its up to Sonic and Eggman to team up and save the day
Gameplay:
Oh boy there is a lot to discuss here so I'll break it into junks
Parkour; To run you must hold R and use the Circle Pad to move; and if you run into a wall you will run on it like you would in Parkour, and you can move left or right while on a wall by holding left or right and pressing A,
If you see a two walls spaced apart you can parkour on one wall and jump to the other by pressing A
Holding the X or Y button will allow you to Spin Dash if you let go of X or Y and Press it as soon as Sonic Starts spinning you will have the infinite Spin Dash
Jumping and Pressing X or Y will make you bounce
Stages
These stages are designed like Super Mario Galaxy but may be reminiscent of the canceled Sega Saturn Game Sonic X-treme , there are Planets, alternate pathways, and etc
there are also 2D stages that are reminiscent of the old school sonic stages in the Genesis era
and finally unique stages that have creative objectives like pushing snowballs and .... juicing ..fruits? Oh ... boy where are we going?
Why do these stages have to exist I swear these are some of the mechanics I don't like; I'd rather explore the stage and get to the goal to see whats up for me next, not going on a scavenger hunt for snow balls, now most stages here can be fun and worth replaying, but there are some stages you wish could end fast end never have to revisit them again.
Another thing that baffles me is Color Powers Returning there is no reason for them to be in this game, they are not in the story not mentioned by any of the characters and they're on an unknown planet that is obviously not their home
I guess.... I'll talk more about that in the Wii U version of this game
Each color power can have a stressing result
Lightning moves automatically forward and you can losing aim of what you were trying to target
Quake has a dumb control scheme How do you move Sonic as the Quake? take a guess You think"The Circle Pad?" He he ... No you have to tilt the 3DS gyro.... Whoever came up with that idea is a real cocksucker...
Why not use the circle pad... some of these areas require precision and if you do not tilt very well you could fall..
Asteroid plays pretty well in my opinion... it can be tough to maneuver but I think its a good color power
Drill does good in dirt and in water in 2D but in 3D....... Noo!!!
Burst is my favorite one in the game as it has perfect control and I believe you can homing attack while in burst
Laser is cool in this game but I prefer the Wii U version of Laser a lot better
Boss fights
In the Wii U version they were piss poor but in the 3DS
OH YEAH you get MUCH better boss fights
All the Zeti have health bars and actually are y'know DEADLY
Zeena: an ok fight you need to use Lightning to defeat her
Zor: I like this fight as it makes you use strategy you need to look for Zor's Owl within the time limit to find and damage him
Difficulty Spikes
I had trouble in Tropical Coast Zone 3 and Frozen Factory Zone 3
TC- you need to use the drill while traveling up a tube will with spiks you hit a spike you bounce back and they give you barely enough time to get these extra drill wisps
Frozen Factory Zone 3 has the infamous snowman
Online Play
Racing is unfair in my opinion allow me to explain
In race only one opponent can carry a wisp which is OK,,, until you get to Tropical Coast which you need the Yellow Wisp, it gives the person who has the Yellow Wisp a big and unfair advantage. it doesn't feel challenging it just feels as if I'm lucky if I get the Wisp.
But other than that Racing is pretty neat for a co op or Versus
Battle is pretty intense you are on a Boss arena trying to knock everyone out and the last one standing wins
Music
Music is pretty good the same composers from Sonic Unleashed helped in Sonic Lost World
Graphics the Graphics are OK for 3DS
+Bosses
+Level Design
-Difficulty Spikes
-Wisp Controls
-Unfair online racing mode
5.7/10 Mediocre
Do not buy this game at $40 wait for a price drop and then go for this "Fun Game"....... wait what? People hated reviewers for this score well I think I need to explain something.
Guys please do not bash me for this score I'm not saying it's a bad game but its not one that's worth a huge price in my opinion if you love this game, there is nothing wrong with that if you want to buy it at $40 bucks, hell, go right ahead if you are a huge Sonic fan, but for the average gamer have a price drop, that's my opinion
