My 3DS wifi only works within feet of the wifi source. Do you think its the wifi card, and can I fix it?

I've never heard of a problem like that. You should make sure nothing obstructs the signal from the 3DS to the router. Also, if you have a poor router, then it probably has a poor signal. Upgrading might help. I would suggest you ask this question on a tech support website. You can also contact your router manufacturer's support services.

First try to use WiFi on other devices like a smartphone, tablet, etc and see if they have the same issue or not. If they work fine then you need to get your 3DS checked by a professional and ask them to either fix the WiFi adapter or replace it with a better one.

Aw, man. Another 3ds wifi problem.....there could be like a billion variations.....but good luck. Maybe you have a bad router?

There could be a bunch of things wrong with it.. And really you need a pro to figure out the problem, sounds like it could be your router, because I've never had problems s with my 3DS WiFi now or ever it's always been fairly decent! Could also be something blocking your 3ds signal thing on the back? That could be it...? Tell me if you've figured out the problem yet! Good luck and happy gaming my friend!

Try to connect another WiFi, maybe it's your router. I had same probmlem with my smartphone.

Here's a simple fix that might work:
Delete the internet settings off your 3ds, and reenter them on the 3ds again. Look for the signal, enter password, and test connection.
If that doesn't work, make sure there aren't any cell phones, phones, or any other metal objects near the router. If you do all of this and still no luck, it's the router itself. Good luck! ^_^

I would delete all Wi-Fi settings, and start over. What @RickyBamBam said.

Try deleting the wifi settings for the router and reentering the information. If it doesnt work, reset the router. It worked for me !
If the problem isnt fixed after doing this, look for a professional or contact Nintendo.
