Well, I don't know if it's the 3ds, or Wii U version you're after. But if it's the 3ds version, I can give you my look on it cuz I have it! 
So yeah, there's a lot of things you can do pertaining to the story, or you can do side quests to level up, and get materials to increase each of the StrawHats' skills!
AND! There's another game mode to play if you wanna take a break from all that! On sale? Dude. Grab it as soon as you can!
( Oh, and there's dlc for costumes, and extra quests.
