Technical specifications for Nintendo’s next generation home console, and possibly their handheld, have apparently leaked online. I don't know what to say, if this is true, most likely it isn't, I will be infuriated because I bought a #DS XL last month, I think since the 3DS is doing so well there is no need to update the system, I mean since the Wii U sales have been so bad the 3DS is what collecting the money, but what do you think about the specs of this rumoured device?

Um, Nintendo News has always been on, not since summer, but if your talking bout NeoGaf I don't know, sorry bout not posting the source: here it is.

I think I won't regret buying 3DS last year. I mean, it has a huge library of games, even for awesome RPGs. Though we still won't see more good upcoming titles, but some titles are still promising. We will have BD:FF, Bravely Second, Persona Q, Mighty no.9, umm what else? But yes, I'm disappointed with 3DS camera. How are you supposed to play Spirit Camera (a horror game) when the camera is only adjusted in bright room? Hehehehe.

A 3G chip? Thumbprint Scanner? I'll take it with a grain of salt. I do wonder that Nintendo has up their sleeves for the future.

The story has been repeated by several outlets, but the original source is a new site. Here is where it originated ... http://www.nintendonews.com/2014/01/nintendo-fusion-could-be-nintendos-next-gen-hardware-name/
xD Guess what, I just now saw this video to where it actually originated from, before Nintendo News, wow, a lot of dirt goes down on these sites. You can check the description for the original article.

@NekuNinja The Fusion DS sound pretty overpowered though, but it sounds really good if it were to be true!

Yup, but hardware won't do the whole work. (Thing that 75% of the players forget.)
As long as it will have a good price, and a good line-up, that would be cool.

But I still have to admit that it's overpowered for an handheld. We're only at the Dual-Core level (as of the 3DS) who runs at the speed of a Pentium II (But it still runs awesome games, and in 3D!) !

Ahh, seems to good to be true...

As a part time journalist myself, I think it's bunk to quote from a source you no next to nothing about - we need to show integrity!

I hope I don't offend anyone by saying this, but if this is true, which it obviously isn't, then Nintendo are being very stupid. As if they need another home console causing the same confusion that the Wii U did with its name and not even keeping up with competing consoles released two years after it.

Nintendo keep trying to capitalize on their successful consoles by naming totally different consoles something similar; I think they should realize by now it backfires. It even affected the 3DS to some extent which is why sales for the 3DS were so low in 2011. I can't tell you the number of times I've seen people online thinking it's a normal DS with a 3D effect.

Yeah, and to add to that, I'll admit that I initially thought that the Wii U Home Menu was to be controlled by a Wiimote rather than the Wii U Gamepad (because of the Wii Home Menu). The fact that it doesn't even come with a Wiimote in many cases makes it kinda confusing, especially since many commercials show it with Wiimotes. Your argument holds ground and let's hope Fusion DS is just a codename or something. With that said, I think it was a different case when they chose the name "Gameboy Advance." In that case, it made more sense (because it's more advanced). Here, is just sounds like a DS is going to fuse with something lol

Yeah, but the GBA's name conveyed that there was something new in it. So did the Game Boy Colour - it showed that the new console had a colour screen. Wii U and Fusion DS just sound like new models or extensions of the same console.

That's a good point.
I think Nintendo should, indeed, find new names that would fit the console better. Of course, the DS handhelds should keep the 'DS' radical, as it's necessary, but we could easily replace the 'Wii' thing by another name, right ?

I like the Nintendo 3DS. If they really are making a new handheld system already, I think they need to slow it down. Thankfully, it's just a rumor.

Hope this doesn't happen (it sounds too good to be true anyways) because I just got my Nintendo Wii U and I just paid $299.99 so I have to keep it for at least 6-7 years before they drop support for it or I just won't buy the new Fusion Terminal... As for the Fusion DS. Tell me exactly how you are going to fit that in your pocket?

Hmm... You know, if that would be true, with the 'future' technology that will come, Nintendo would be able to make that MicroPC with two screens fit in your pocket. Don't worry for it !

And, I don't think that they will drop the WiiU and the 3DS in 2 or 3 years... They are at the beginning of their lifespan (and the 3DS's lifespan has just been 'refreshed', thanks to the 2DS/3DSXL + a lot of awesome games).

But the Terminal name sounds a bit confusing... Is it a local game server ? Is it a console ? Is a computer ?
That's confusing.

Hmm... Okay, I got my 3DS about a little while after they announced the Price Drop... I just want to keep it a bit longer before they drop support. I actually like the name: Fusion Terminal, I think it is a good choice but it just sounds a little weird 0.0 .
