School/work & your 3DS?

Do you ever or have you ever taken your 3DS to school/work with you? Did you get caught with it at school/work?

I have thought of taking my 3DS to work with me but I am afraid to. I am afraid it would be too much of a temptation for me so I leave it at home. There is no way it can be a distraction for me if I leave it at home.

I don't bring it to school because I wouldn't be able to play it with any peace of mind anyway (who wants to play with the risk of getting caught?), and there's a chance of it getting stolen or damaged by other students who can't keep their grubby hands off.

This pat year, I started bringing my 3DS to school in my backpack to get Streetpasses (No one other than me really brings their 3DS to school, lol.) and I leave it in my backpack all day or carry it around in my pocket (occasionally) to get my 1000+ steps for the day / 10 play coins for the day.

I would never do that! Way too risky, and since in my school, you'd better consider Sony or Microsoft as an association for the charity, because you see, most of the people in France (most, because at least there are people that are open-minded) think that Nintendo: "It's for kidz, lulz!" or "ERMAGEHD! He plays on a Nintendo HandHeld! You n00bz, you should play on a PS3 instead!" (examples of what you might get for using a 3DS in a school).

And more, since there's a lot of people, I don't want to get it stolen...

But I can take my DS Lite to school, no problem about it. I just play it in the front of the room where I have my next lesson, so I'm not annoyed by these guys who think they know everything about the gaming. :hilarious:

And that's another reason for me to leave it at home. I don't want it to get stolen. There are a few people that I work with that would be like, "Cool, you play video games?" if I brought it to work but I'd have some people to talk to about playing but there would be someone else that would steal it. I know this because there have been things that have come up missing before.

Meh, I started bringing my 3DS to school this past year, and a bunch of kids I'm sorta friends with either A. Like Nintendo, B. Have a 3DS, or C. Both, Even kids 2 years younger than me have 3DSes and I play with them sometimes. Plus, I haven't had a thing stolen yet.

I think the only time I ever brought my 3DS to school was in 7th grade so I could play it with a friend at drama practice after school. It's amazing that not many people at my school liked Nintendo, but as soon as they were stuck at rehearsal without anything to do, they wanna be buddies with me and play 3DS >_>

I took my DS to school multiple times towards the end of Year 6, played Pokémon with some friends and one of those days I got caught, told to give it to a teacher till the end of the day in the future and continued bringing it as instructed. Haven't done it with my 3DS in secondary, though, too scared to lose it like my older brother did with two GBAs in secondary in the past. :<

Then again, it's not completely safe at home but it's better than school at least so I never will nowadays.

I always leave it at home.
Even at the days where we can bring electronics at school, I never bring it due to my lack of trust because I don't want any of the jerks at my classroom to take it and I can still remember them right now.

Also, I want to avoid harassment of me only having a 3DS and not having an iPhone or a Playstation Vita. :artist:

Nah, I wouldn't personally take it to work. I have a short break so I wouldn't even have enough time to play it. Nice thought, though. :p

Not to school/work, but I used to take it with me whenever I went outside to play with my friends. It was SUCH a terrible idea, as it would always somehow slip out of my pockets and land on the bare asphalt. I'm surprised after 3+ years that it's still running lol.

Some years ago i used to bring my old DS Lite with me to school sometimes to play with my friends, and now i do the same with my 3DS, but i dont play it a lot, just by the end of the day when i am waiting for my parents to bring me back home.

I take it for the long subway hauls that takes about 2 hours. It's great, there's a reason why the 3DS is portable, when I'm at home I just play with my Wii U, but when I'm going out I play with it often.

95% of the time I leave it at home unless I am going away for an extended amount of time. I think it's sometimes better to take a break from playing anyways and enjoy the outside world for some time. I also don't really feel comfortable playing for just 5 minutes on a crowded bus or train anyways. I guess that's why I never get StreetPasses, although I'm pretty doubtful that there will be many people carrying 3DSes with them on the way to work in the first place.

I was in University when the 3DS came out.

I've played it in class before.

Lecturers don't give a <censored>.

Nope, never, and I do not intend on doing it because not only would it probably get stolen, but the majority of people there are Sony/Microsoft fanboys and I <censored> you not, once I said that PC is the most strongest and has the best specs, and they laughed at me and said that PS3/Xbox 360 <censored> all over PC. Yep. So much for gaming brains these days. #Cod5ever, am I right?

I bring it after getting permission, but only on days close to the holidays. I find it neat to show my fellow classmates games they never pay attention to! (Like Space Harrier, Qix, ETC)
