Welcome to the NHK is a really "interesting" anime about certain individuals in Modern day Japan called hikikomori (which are people who choose to alienate themselves from society by staying in their homes all the time.) The story revolves around a certain individual about his day to day basis in his apartment. One day he ran into this girl who wants to experiment by finding out more of the hikikomori lifestyles. As the story goes on it gets weirder and a little funny to say the least. But it's something that's often over looked in anime, in Japan a hikikomori is always looked down on and bring shame to their family.
