Do you like the 2Ds nonclamshell design where you can't close it or do you like the old 3ds design? Which do you prefer? I like the old design? But that's my opinion, What's yours?

The clam-shell design is better; it protects the screen, speakers and buttons from dirt and dust and also makes the console more portable as you can carry it around in a pocket when it's smaller (folded over).

I think if Nintendo were to make a 2DS redesign, they should go with the clam-shell design with some changes to make it distinguishable from the 3DS.

I like both designs. Clearly the 3ds design is better but I can see where Nintendo was coming from with the 2ds design its cheaper to make and its reminiscent of a tablet design so younger kids wanting to follow parents with tablets would like the design.

The 2ds is really cool and really unbreakable easily and it resist to shock when it fall down

Though the 2DS is more resistant than the 3DS, the 2DS takes more space than a 3DS. That's the only con I can find in her.
I will stay neutral because while I love the 3DS's design, the 3DS lacks one thing: resistance.

So, when you have to choose between a 3DS(XL) and a 2DS, you must ask yourself one question:

Will he be careful about his console, and avoid dropping it at all costs (include accidental dropping), or will he prefer a console that takes more space, but harder to accidentally break ?

I don't know, I really don't like the 2DS design. Just by looking at it, I think to myself how devastating it would be if I dropped it face- first. I really like the 3DS clamshell design because it provides a last layer of security. I bet the 2DS is more resistant to drops but also a bit exposed on the screen- side. It doesn't look bad though, and I probably would've considered it had I not already had a 3DS.

I am not a big fan of it, but it is a good idea for people who like a simple design for the Handheld though. That is why I bought it for my mom, it was something more simple over the 3DS one.

I much prefer the 3ds because I think that the 2ds has the circle pad way to far up and I would also much prefer it if it were to actually close. that is why I went with a 3ds instead.

I like it. It's good that it's kid friendly (can't break any hinges since there aren't any). It's like a huge gameboy in a way. :p

I honestly hate it :/ One of my friends has it, I think it's pretty ugly.

That's exactly what I was thinking, it looks like a GBA with an extra screen. And I agree, I really like it because it's better for little kids. I've only played one irl once and it was very comfortable.

In my opinion its kind of bad, sure it has its pros, you can save money, but on of the cons is that you cannot Streetpass easily unless you carry a purse JUST for your 2DS, so that defeats the purpose of some games to be bought.

At first I hated the design but now I love it. I always carry a bag around (just ask my friends) so its not much of a problem for me in the portability area. Also the controls look weird in picture but when I actually use one it feels just right. Also the L and R trigger buttons feel large and comfortable. Its also very sturdy (like doorwedge sturdy) and its gonna see even more playtime in the future with Super Smash Bros. and Omega Ruby. I love my 2DS. [Sounds better in my head]
