As stated, why doesn't the Big N give out full games? I mean Origin and steam does it, as well as Sony and I bet Microsoft does it too(not really an XBox fan lol). Nintendo should at least be charitable for at least 1 game per 2 months instead of a year lol I mean the free LoZ they gave out early spring was awesome and all but does anybody play it anymore? I don't want to sound like a cheapskate or anything but I think Nintendo should dish out at least 6 free games a year lol 6 games is already asking them too much but if you compare the prices from other competitions, Nintendo games are really overpriced >.> lol In my place, PS3 games are way cheaper than DS and 3DS games and Wii/U games have skyrocket prices.

Old PS3/Xbox games = more or less $15-$25
New PS3/Xbox games= more or less @20-$50
old Nintendo(Wii/U,3/DS) games= $15-$25
new Nintendo(Wii/U,3/DS) games- $20-$40

Its more or less the same price as its competition and yet their competition gives out free games lol
Just heard that Ace Attorney Dual Destinies is out for IOS and it costs 5 bucks per episode and Ep1 is free lol

IOS AADD=$20 all 5 eps
3DS AADD=$29 all 5 eps >.>

Ok I'm done ranting lol >.>

I honestly thought they did, could you confirm with Club Nintendo? It ISN'T exactly free but 3 games a month taken from their catalog is okay-ish

Club Nin isn't actually free as you have to buy games to get points so not really counted as a free game since you have to spend at least 200 coins (Back then it was 100-150). I still have a grudge against Club Nin for deactivating my account >.> They should've at least make Club Nin a global thing and let other regions enjoy digital DLs >.> lol

Nothing is free, even with PlayStation you have to pay for PlayStation plus to play and keep the free games, so to me those games are not free.

If you're going to dig as deep as to say Club Nintendo isn't "free", then it really isn't fair to say Sony and Microsoft give free games. Playstation Plus, albeit a fantastic deal, costs $60 a year. I don't know how much Games with Gold costs on Xbox 360/One but I know it isn't free.

Origin gives out free games (most recently The Sims 2) because it's EA's own service and they don't have to go through Sony or Microsoft to make it free.

Steam gives out free games occasionally because indie developers want their games to be noticed. Steam has more games than any other platform and it's also the easiest to develop for, so it's only natural there are a few developers that want to give away their game.

Well, I must admit that would be a great idea, but I highly doubt Nintendo would do it. That would be a loss for them, unless if they make them free for a certain period of time, then ask you to pay it, but in that case, the customers would be mad.

So, yes, I'd like them to make a PS+/Games With Gold-like thing (though I don't know how it works, not really a PS3/4/Vita fan), or to adjust the eShop better.

Or a digital renting service (ex: you buy a license for the game who works for let's say 3 months, and at the end, you keep your save, but you must pay again to play the full game) would also be a nice idea, especially for smaller games (that you might not want to pay full price).

Well, if Nintendo goes and hands out free games then that makes them more like Sony or Xbox, and Nintendo wishes to stay the same and be UNIQUE (and fyi there's a free game on the eshop right now called steel subdivers or something like that which i s actually super fun)

Not really wrong with Nintendo being like Microsoft and Sony with regards giving free retail games. And Nintendo is UNIQUE not because they're not giving out free retail games but because Nintendo makes quality First-Party games. Nintendo makes games that are memorable and fun unlike their other competitors. What I'm trying to reason out is with Nintendo releasing games with a bit of an overpriced price tag. Unlike Sony, they release PS3/4 games with a comfortable price tag being with high graphics and all. Looking at those 3DS games in the market, its almost the same price as a PS3 game albeit being a lower-gen console but Sony still continues supporting it making it also a competition. PSP games gone an all time lower price PSVita adjusts its overpriced games too but why won't Nintendo reprice their future games to a more affordable and comfortable price?

I'd be okay if they expanded Club Nintendo to make it that they have tons of more games to claim with stars. It's much better than PS+ and Xbox Gold or whatever they're called where you pay like $60 a year for online play and "free" games; instead, you can buy your normal share of great games from Nintendo, get their rewards system and claim a few good games a year (like expanded VC and maybe one of their top games a year, I know that games like Wonderful 101 could do with a boost).

Besides the CN buy system get free game thing they basically did with Four Swords DSiware and Flipnote before it. So if there is something free coming out it will be the 3DS version of Flipnote (that will NEVER come) or better yet Four Swords again for anyone that missed it! Don't think that is good enough? Well I don't but odds are you don't buy a 3DS unless you play high quality 3DS games to play on the system. Free games -> profit not earned -> charity.

Nintendo actually gives us free games but in the sense that they only give it to North American users (I guess) by Club Nintendo rewards.. The problem there is that there are only few games which you get which are of the 3DS others are nes remixes and gba games..

they give free full games in club nintendo. But the problem is they are garbage dsi games and not quality 3ds games. I wish that nintendo will give us some games like pokemon and fire emblem ( for 3ds )

It is life my friend, you must pay for something, that is how the world works and I do agree but they should at least give us one awesome game a year such as naruto shippuden 3ds game that would be nice.

I have a few reasons Nin should not do this!
1.There going bankrupt
2.UNLESS THEY RELEASE FLIPNOTE I DON'T CARE!
3.I love colecting games plus you ever heard of getting a pre owned game using the code and bringing it back annd do the process over and over again
4.I honestly think if you had to program for days/months i would make people pay A CAJILLION DOLLERS hehehehehehehehe!

I would love to see them give out their oldest console games on the 3ds/wii, but I'm willing to bet that will never happen because Nintendo tries too hard to not be like their competitors. Free games doesn't exactly earn them any money either.

I know what you mean! I consider myself quite the Nintendo fan, and it's honestly sad seeing that Nintendo doesn't give free things to their highly paying consumers.

I mean i read once in a blog post on some Nintendo site about the amount of money that consumers pay yearly to become a premium or gold user on club Nintendo.
I can't quite remember the amount of money, but let me just say it was high!

Yes, they give premium and gold users free games yearly but those games are like those games that are always on the back of the store shelf; they were unpopular, they were basically throwing their games that didn't make much money at us.

This year's awards were really crappy games. For the 3DS they were mostly NES and GBA games... (I was a premium user this year). The only somewhat good and within the same generation game was DK for the Wii U (only for gold users though), and that game stopped selling since it was released the year before i think which is why they picked it...

I really do love Nintendo's games and their consoles! I just hope they treat their consumers the way they want to be treated, i mean i could rant all day about the things that they could do which will increase their income, and improve their relationship between their consumers and them.

It would be great to see Nintendo release somewhat anticipated or loved games for free, their games really do cost a lot,
And Nintendo has been just been wanting money money money i mean i get that the Wii U hasn't been selling much, but what you're doing like charging 4$ for freaking themes isn't helping you're losing a bunch of your consumers.

Ok, wow i need to stop talking or else i'll go on forever.

THIS. :)
Nintendo is already giving out games by Club Nintendo.
The only way Nintendo could give Free games out is if we hadto pay for Online services like xbox and sony.
But that would decrease the amount of people buying the 3DS or any Nintendo Device.
Nintendo wouldn make that change all of sudden btw.
Nintendo has had Free Online services for a few 10 years I think :)

I think a subscription style service from the big N would be do-able provided it was cheap and promised less than PS Plus. The thing with PS Plus is that you are paying £40 a year for 72 free games and a lot of discounts. Of those 72 games probably 60 are going to be Indie games that would sell for £5-£10 but there will be a few big hitters and about 3 really major "I can't believe that's free!" moments. They also make a promise of quality being over 60% positive on metacritic (something they can get around by releasing brand new indie games for free).

Nintendo couldn't do this, simply because of the lack of games and the amount of third party issues that would ensue. Also the Plus gang are a pretty entitled lot and threaten mutiny at the drop of a hat (if you look on the release on the PS Blog you will see an awful lot of people griping that this months offerings are all smaller indie titles). As much as I'd love a similar service from Ninty, it would open them up to so much comparison and abuse that I hate to say it but I doubt they could weather such a storm.
They seem to do business completely differently to Sony anyway- in the PS store new games are a good £5-£10 above retail, but sales will drop them to a ludicrously low price (prime example- Danganronpa 2 is £11.99 from £34.99 today) whereas Nintendo treat digital content in a weird way, matching retail but failing to lower prices when shops are selling them for half price.

Rewards for long term customers (as the ambassador programme was) is more preferable to me than their continued rewards for buying new hardware....

I thought Club Nintendo pretty much is a free game thing. I have so many coins I don't know what to do with them, I just use them on the games. And that pretty much counts as free right? 200 coins for Legend of Zelda 3DS isn't too much of a loss right?

I wish virtual console games were free like pokemon red and blue and yellow and even ruby and sapphire and emerald
