Nintendo 3DS Legend
Towns Folk
It was released on 29/11/2013 (US Date) the size of the app is only 13 blocks it is free , lol it's just like the set up in a phone sadly it's not hd xD

 Anyone who have experienced it already, tell me, is it smooth, I hear they are a lot of crashes, I was surprised it cam out so early, does it lag a lot ?

My friend said: blurred video, no 3D, and buffering takes time (maybe this one depends on your connection, but dunno for sure). I guess I'll go with this, only to listen to songs online. Beside, we can watch trailers on eShop ;)

In same time, it's normal that videos have no 3D/ take time to load.
It's still a technical challenge to load all net services + videos in a 128 MB RAM with only 4MB of video memory (Actual 3DS Hardware).

But, as Nintendo can actually how to use properly all the RAM + VRAM, we can expect that they'll fix this.

I see. That's why it takes more time to load than any video in eShop... even Ninty Direct.

Well the video that loads is not that blurry so it won't matter unless you want to see your videos in high definition go use a computer instead :p

@dwikrid :
Exactly. And, Nintendo Direct videos are faster, because you connect to servers who have a enormous quantity of RAM (It must be over 64 GB of RAM, at least), and use a really fast FTP like protocol.

So, either you have a HTTP Protocol for Youtube Videos, or for Nintendo Direct, you have a quick FTP server. That's how the net videos services are made on the 3DS, I think.

Definitely a nice explanation from you, @D4rkDragon.

That's nothing. I often do some computer programming or toy with hardware, so that's nothing !

Hahahaha, I know but not everyone gets used to those things. ;)

Yes. Even more when everybody at school looks at you another way because you know all kind of tricks on computers.

Yeah, I've been having crashes every time I try playing a video....really glad that the amount of blocks it took up was so minimal or else it would have been a huge waste of space

That's nice - if it's functional even on bare subsistence levels, it's OK.
It won't make any difference to me though; YouTube is blocked here, very stupidly indeed on the government's part.

 Yikes, well I guess since its the first ever Youtube app they launched its bound to be horrible, we might just have to wait and see if an updated version will be provided (soon)/

We won't complain about it; it's better than nothing, right ? As many of you said, let's wait and see.
I think that the fact that Youtube uses Flash did some trouble to Nintendo too.

Yeah that's a good point. At the least they DID start working on it. Crashing on start is better than not having work being done on it at all

@naagza it seems to be completely working finely on my 3DS XL , could it be your internet connection or something ? I had no crashes so far when I opened the app and try playing a video.

I think its his location too, Nintendo of America region Youtube seems to be crashing a lot, I read that on game sites, a lot of people are experiencing the browser crashes and are force top restart the app.

I rarely use the app xD but I downloaded it from the NA Region E-Shop so I think I didn't experience any of the crashes as I had only used it before all of this happened.

I say if something is horrible and barely works on start then it's not better than nothing. Basically it doesn't even exist since it doesn't work. That being said, it absolutely does not work for me. Worst thing I have ever bothered to down load on my 3DS. Well, I wasn't expecting much. It reached my expectations :p After 2 minutes of it being on my DS I'm deleting it. xD
