Chapter 9 of Atelier Shallie: Alchemists of the Dusk Sea DX will have you searching for locations to find Automatons. There are five in total you will need, and three out of the five will need to be found. This guide will tell you the locations of each in the game.
Katla will have the first one at her shop. She sells it for a high price so you likely will not be able to afford it. You do not need to purchase it, however, you will need to trigger all of the cutscenes until Albert buys it.
They can be found in the following areas of the world map:
You can sell these three to Albert and he will give you Cole and items in return.
Faav Village has the last one. You would not have been able to collect it before, but after getting the life task, you should be able to get it after a cutscene that triggers when visiting.
Return to the Ruins of Frozen Time and another cutscene will trigger. There is one additional Automaton in the area but it’s not one that can be collected.
