It wasn’t until Triumphant Light’s launch that I used my Palkia EX more. I already have Misty, and Vaporeon wasn’t difficult to pull. It made building my deck easier, and I managed to win my 5 consecutive win emblem on the first attempt with it.
This deck consists of:
Palkia EX is the star of the show. The early 30 damage from Slash does wonders during online battles. Manaphy is there to provide free water energy to your benched Palkia EX and Vaporeon. Vaporeon can then use its Wash Out ability to transfer water energy to Palkia EX in the active spot.
Misty often does not give any head coin flips, so I don’t depend on that card, but it has recently been giving me one energy per use. It’s all RNG.
The reason why I didn’t have a 2nd Vaporeon in this deck is because I wanted to prioritize drawing a Palkia EX, Manaphy, or Eevee. Pokémon Communication, Poké Ball, and Professor’s Research help with drawing what needs to be drawn to secure victory.
Giant Cape gives Palkia EX the extra bulk to survive Celebi EX. Sabrina and Cyrus are extras to help bring out a retreating Pokemon for a quick and easy prize (score). Irida is a new card from Triumphant Light, and it has come in handy with its healing effect.
A Second Vaporeon
Don’t be afraid to add a second Vaporeon to your deck if you struggle to pull it. Other Palkia EX decks are most likely using two of them. I just never found the need to since I can rely on other support cards.
Articuno EX
Articuno EX is a great Pokemon to add as an additional attacker. It doesn’t lose water energy like Palkia EX and it can hit the opposing Pokemon earlier. Not to mention it can damage benched Pokemon at full power.
Glaceon EX
I wouldn’t use Glaceon EX in a Palkia EX deck, but I’ve seen someone who tried it out during a random online battle before. They lost, but I still thought I should give it a mention.
