If you heard some small talk on the Internet saying that the Europe region Nintendo 3DS and 3DS XL do not come out of the box with a charger, today things will be much clearer. The European region 3DS actually comes with a charger, however, the 3DS XL does not. If you decide to buy a Europe region 3DS XL, you will be required to purchase the gaming handheld console’s charger separately, unfortunately.

Nintendo has even added a notice that the AC adapter (aka charger) is not included with the Nintendo 3DS XL gaming system in Europe. It’s a little difficult to find the web page by navigating through Nintendo’s official website, however, it’s there.
AC adapter not included. The AC adapter from the Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo DSi XL or Nintendo DSi systems can be used with the Nintendo 3DS XL, or an AC adapter can be purchased separately.
Will a Nintendo DSi and DSi XL AC adapter work with the European region 3DS XL?
Yes, the Nintendo DSi and DSi XL AC adapters (chargers) are compatible with the European region Nintnedo 3DS XL. However, the Nintendo DS and DS Lite chargers are not compatible with the 3DS XL.
There is also a special cradle charger available for the 3DS XL.
