BBBB Origins: Part 2

Kindergarten was rough but I managed to survive thanks to my comrades Julio and Allen, along with the comfort of my barney backpack and teddy bear.
Halfway through my training in kindergarten we had the opportunity to do field training. Accept the adults and teachers called it a "field trip." My platoon was heading to a top secret training ground known as, "The Pumpkin Patch."
The day we were to move out to this location was amazing. We were told to bring rations for the day in case we were engaged by the enemy. I brought a peanut butter and banana sandwich with an apple and pickles. My favorite. We were picked up by a heavily armored yellow transport vehicle known simply as a "The Bus." The ride there was a long one. I spent the time conversing with my comrades and engaging in a little target practice with my handy straw and tissues. Just when I had perfected my aim we had already arrived at the pumpkin patch. The place was full of mud and it was cold outside. In the fields were varying sizes of orange colored fruits called pumpkins. I'd seen them on tv but now that I had seen them in person I was in awe of their size and weight. After everyone exited the bus we were led to a tractor with a large cart attached to it. It was lined with hay and was large enough to seat our entire platoon. The teachers helped us up on the cart and soon we were all cantering towards a far off field were we were to choose our very own pumpkin. Once there, we each exited and began selecting our pumpkins. I quickly selected a decent sized one for myself and hurried back to the tractor. It was cold and I wanted to return to the hay were it was warm. We were done and on our way to the make shift barracks for lunch. As we all sat down to eat I noticed another guy had sat next to me. It was one of my least favorite people, Nelson. He was an unruly soldier and would often take my crayons and put glue on my hair during arts and crafts training. It was on this day that he decided that he wanted my sandwich. This situation wasn't anything new to me. Being in a family with 2 older brothers you learn how to hold your own. So when he attempted to take my sandwhich away from me I did what I always had done with my brothers. I cocked back my fist and punched him straight in the throat. As you could imagine the adults weren't very happy with us. After that incident we were separated and told to finish our lunch. Upon completion of our field training we packed up our pumpkins and headed back to school. Since that day in kindergarten I was never bothered again and had learned a valuable life lesson. If someone tries to take something from you. Punch them in the throat. This would soon be a very useful skill when I started 1st grade the following year.
