You could also try something new, that's what I did, just keep this tip in mind:
Think of something that you can show interesting characters, the only reason I can't really put a lot of character development in my story is because they are actual people, and I'm trying to figure it out with them on how I can make it work
And I'm trying to step away from horror and go to a more upbeat theme.
