After what felt like several days had passed since my narrow escape from Cloud, i finally began to recover and regain my full strength. Before long, i was back to normal, and upon knowing this, Mother had instructed us to meet her on the top level of the Mako Reactor to discuss the secrets of the fusion she described on the day we came back here to territory due to unstable circumstances that made the mission too risky for us to proceed safely. Even though Mother's power had saved me in that situation, she knew there wasnt time to wait around for Cloud Strife to find me or even my brothers again, or for me to be further injured beyond the deadly point i was in from using Mother's fusion to defend myself. Prepared to get the full explanation and story of this mysterious power, my gang and i made way for the top floor of our territory where Mother was in her resting place, waiting for us to see her.
Chapter 5: Mother's Gifts
Once we arrived at the top level of our territory, Mother smiled at us and said "Good, youre all here!" Loz was the first to speak and started "So Mother... How exactly is Little Sister able to merge with you like that?" Mother began to answer and said "Your sister, as you and Yazoo both know, is the second larva of your oldest brother Sephiroth, but in feminine form. Sephiroth was the only one who had a sufficient amount of my cells to use an exceptionally strong attack, known as galaxies birth. Unfortunately, your sister is unable to use that move without sacrificing herself entirely. Sephiroth on the other hand, he could use it without dying. When you three were born, i knew of this and decided to give your sister a special gift that would be necessary for me to be fully revived without her needing to be sacrificed. So to make sure this was successful, i granted your sister the power to merge with me in order to create the necessary abundance of my cells needed to bring me back in hopes she would not die afterwards. I knew what the stakes were with this, but there was no other option; without Sephiroth in physical form, this was the only choice i had. But that alone was not the only reason i left you with this ability, Sephie." Feeling curious, i said "It wasnt..? What else was there, Mother?" Mother paused briefly and said "Do you remember what i told you about my ancient treasure i hid from SOLDIER and Shinra Company before your oldest brother and i were defeated?" I then felt rather confused and said "Yes...?" Mother then continued "The power i left you with is one of three powers required in order to activate my treasure's power. I left an ancient inscription on my stone tablet before i first landed on this planet telling what was required to activate it and make my legacy eternal." Yazoo spoke next and said "So what did it say, Mother?" Mother continued and said "I wrote this on it as follows: When the three remnants unite as one and use each of their unique powers, the seal will be broken and the Infinite Reunion shall be activated. Of course, i did not inscribe those words in a human known language. You should all know exactly why." All three of us stood in silence, trying to think about what that had meant. I was the first to speak after this and said "Mother... Whats the Infinite Reunion?" Mother seemed deep in thought and said "The Infinite Reunion is the most powerful thing we have as a family, my children... The Infinite Reunion is the most powerful weapon we have. If it is successfully activated, every human living on this planet becomes as you three--they bear the power of my cells, which ties them all to me.... Furthermore, they also act by my will just like you three do and work to defend me and my legacy... and also love me and know me as their Mother, just like you guys. Even more powerful, the activation will also bring Sephiroth back into physical form. The activation of the Infinite Reunion cannot be reversed either. Once it's activated, it is forever." All three of us gazed in shock, not believing what we just heard. Loz then spoke first and said "That explains why SOLDIER and Shinra Company attempted to destroy it..." I then said "Exactly... If that was activated it would mean the end for even those who opposed us--theyd become one of us if it had been activated during those years." Mother then said "Correct, however... In order for the Infinite Reunion to be successfully activated, even though you three have the required powers, there is one problem.... The inscription also said when the three remants unite as one which means..." Mother had stopped there, she saw our expressions which she knew meant we understood what was missing: Big Brother. Yazoo then said "Uh oh... But how can we get Big Brother back? None of us are strong enough to revive him directly..." Loz then replied "Its true... With him gone, and none of us being strong enough to revive him without sacrificing each other, that leaves an ugly hole in the plan..." I then shook my head, feeling troubled at what to do. I was truly at a loss here. I knew Big Brother was strong--stronger than me and my gang combined, even stronger than Mother herself. I also knew we had to be alive for the Infinite Reunion to be activated as well, further complicating the issue at hand. I then said "Mother, how do we bring him back? Is there another way to activate the Infinite Reunion?" Mother sighed and said "Im afraid not, my children... He is in complete form, despite being out of physical form, so he is the key for the activation... The activation happens exactly as i inscribed it, my children. So you three have to use your unique powers, and Sephiroth's gift is also required since he resembles the perfect reunion--or you three as one in simpler terms. All of you are needed for the successful activation." I then said "So now what do we do? We arent strong enough to revive him, even if all three of us bond together and try to... We wont make it alive if we do that directly.." Mother nodded and said "Youre right, Sephieroth... There is a safer way to pull this off though... But it will take a lot of time, im afraid..." Feeling excited, i said "What is it?" Mother paused and said "It is possible to bring Sephiroth back by standard reunion theory, but it will require you to have him as your offspring. The only way it will be successful though is if the bond between you and another who bears my cells is strong and pure enough... Even though you are a woman, your body doesn't work the same as that of a human female; it works more like mine does. So you can't just arbitrarily be impregnated the way humans are. In order for you to have any offspring, a special connection is needed that ties my cells inside of you to the other person's in them. A powerful bond, whether it be a strong friendship or strong care for someone in my family such as your brothers beside you, is required for that connection to take place and cause you to become pregnant... This, as you all know, is not how it works with humans at all." Yazoo suddenly seemed emotional to me in a way thats difficult to describe. His eyes suddenly brightened and he stared ahead in a way that seemed very strange to me. Loz also had noticed, and he went to my side and said "Is something wrong?" Loz sounded very concerned. I also felt a bit worried myself. Yazoo seemed to shake away the feeling then turned to us and said "No, its nothing... Im just uh... Kinda tired..." He seemed rather embarrassed a tad, but i knew he tried not to make it obvious. He seemed to walk a little ways past me and Loz, then turned around and said "How about you take us to the Forgotten City, Little Sister? We can fuel up and use the water to charge our JENOVA cells for the day!" I turned to Mother before answering him, and she smiled at me which i knew meant it was ok to head out and she was done talking for the time being. I then turned back to Yazoo and said "Sure, that sounds like fun. I could use a nice break after all that work we did the other day. Plus i wanna go outside get some air again." Loz nodded and said "Yes, i agree. Lead the way, Little Sister." I ran ahead of both my brothers, then gave the signal to follow me. I lead us back to the ground floor and outside, each of us mounting our motorbikes and taking off with me leading the way like normal. As i lead us to our destination, i remembered the look Yazoo had on his face after Mother had finished talking to us. It was just so strange... Id never seen him with that look, even in the many years we lived together as the family we are. Did he have a bad vision of some kind? Or was it something else i cant figure out or understand? It would be rather awkward to have a negative vision during the discussion that was about, but anything is possible as Mother taught me in my life. Being one as skilled as her in that sort of thing, she knows that better than anyone. Because Mother doesnt tell lies.
