Kadaj, JENOVA's youngest child and leader of JENOVA SOLDIER, had completed her role in terminating all war against JENOVA's legacy. As a result, she was forced away from life, fading into the JENOVA Lifestream. JENOVA was devastated, having lost something very precious to her without being able to do anything about it. After discovering the remains she left on the verge of her death, Yazoo took charge of leading JENOVA SOLDIER, and focused the gang's job on finding a way to initiate a Reunion that would help their lost Sister regain life. They spent an entire year searching, but they could not a find a way to get her back. Kadaj, resting in the JENOVA Lifestream, decided to take the matter into her hands, and attempted a strong but deadly limit break, known as the Ultimate Reunion. She succeeded, and ended up regaining physical form after going unconscious from being overwhelmed. JENOVA found her first, and smiled at her young child she held in her arms. Seeing Kadaj's critical condition, JENOVA rushed her to JENOVA Foundation HQ to have her properly cared for. Rufus saw her bleak condition, and had her rested in the underground of the foundation, JENOVA Chamber, which had the largest concentration of JENOVA cells in the entire kingdom. Several days passed, followed by a few weeks, but Kadaj would not wake at all. Learning of the worrisome news and worsening situation, Yazoo payed a visit to JENOVA Chamber to see his precious Sister. When he saw her, she was wrapped tightly by white-pinkish tendrils that dug into her body, feeding her body with JENOVA cells. However, she wouldn't move at all; she was barely breathing. Yazoo knew she was barely alive when he saw her. He reached out to his Mother, JENOVA, asking her to do whatever she can to keep his Sister from death. After getting a full report from Yazoo, JENOVA knew there was no choice but to pull out the stops once and for all; and ordered Sephiroth and Rufus to use the Ultimate Sacrifice on Kadaj, to protect her and secure a better future for JENOVA Kingdom. None of her children wanted her to sacrifice herself for Kadaj's sake, but JENOVA insisted regardless. She knew the loss she was leaving her family with, but also knew the Infinite Reunion would one day help her regain life despite the consequences of her choice. Yazoo, learning of her plans to initiate the Ultimate Sacrifice, hurried to Vincent in order to seek his aid in an alternate route to saving Kadaj so JENOVA would not have to be sacrificed. Reluctantly, Vincent agreed to help and set a course for JENOVA Foundation. Yazoo tried to make contact with JENOVA, but got very fuzzy responses that sounded like JENOVA was very weak in the background. Hastily trying to end everything, he boarded his motorbike and raced for the foundation without slowing down. However, upon arriving there, he had to hurry for cover due to a large meteoroid that was closing in on the ground nearby. It crash-landed, leaving a massive crater in the ground. Yazoo got up to investigate the crash site, and found a strangely familiar young woman who was unconscious beneath all of the rubble. After thoroughly studying her, he read the inscription on her headgear, and it read 'SEPHIROVA' in JENOVA's alien language. Regaining his strength and will to press on, he took the girl into his arms and focused on tending to her at the Forgotten City. Meanwhile, Loz saw the crash from a distance, running as fast as he could to help JENOVA, thinking she was injured in the explosion. After seeing the ravaged area, he saw the JENOVA Foundation HQ was unscathed, and hurried inside to find JENOVA. After arriving in experiment sites, he slowed down and saw only Rufus, who was also wearing his work gloves as though he had just finished working in the labs. Loz, confused at what he found, asked Rufus where JENOVA was, and Rufus told him about the completion of the Ultimate Sacrifice. Sadness beginning to well up inside himself, Loz asked Rufus if he was joking, feeling it was not funny and playing taken too far. Rufus insisted it was the truth, gesturing to a broken cell that was very bloody, its glass scattered all over the floor in front of it. Loz followed his gaze, and saw the bloody mess. Unable to bear his pain, Loz was furious, and scolded Rufus; Rufus responded as truthfully as he could, but his honesty didn't cure Loz's deep hurt. Before the quarrel could last any longer, Loz armed his weapon, and jabbed the floor as hard as he could. Rufus tried to stop him, warning him that he would bring the entire facility down, but Loz didn't care; he only cared about the life Rufus took, his lost Mother, and was solely set on his way of 'righting the wrongs' by destroying the foundation HQ and bringing its entire staff down with it. Seeing he could not reason with Loz, Rufus took the stairs and focused on warning the employees about Loz's rampage inside the building, engaging an evacuation order. Sephiroth flew above JENOVA Foundation, and knew exactly what had went on before he came. Concerned for Loz's well-being and the kingdom's safety, he focused on intervening and aimed to help calm Loz.
Chapter 1: JENOVA the 2nd
(This section will focus on Sephiroth as the speaker) I landed at the entrance of JENOVA Foundation shortly after receiving reports about Loz raging inside and trying to destroy the building and kill everyone inside along with it. I went inside, and the place was already in ruins despite not collapsing yet. It also appeared that nobody was here, which led me to guess that Rufus initiated an evacuation order to minimize casualties. There were holes in the ceiling--big ones. The stairs were also unusable, and i knew the elevator was probably toast as well. All it took for Brother Loz to disable that was one hit from his weapon with that strength of his. However, it was also rather quiet which didn't seem right. If Loz was still rampaging, there would be an obvious amount of noise. I flew through the holes in the ceiling until I reached where the experiment labs were, the place where Mother was sacrificed. I expected Loz would still be there. However, he wasn't there. I landed, and wondered "Did he chase Rufus and the rest of the staff instead of destroying the building..?" I wished I could locate him, but it was not going to be easy with Mother gone. Mother was a natural at pinpointing locations like that. Her lethal accuracy was incredible and helped us on all of our missions up to the present. I sighed, saying "If only Mother were still here... then finding him would be so much easier..." I shook my head, and continued "I'll just have to find him on my own. There's no time for regrets. My only choice now is to stop Loz before things get any worse. The poor guy... he's devastated by Mother's sacrifice... I have to calm him or more family members will die!" I flew back downstairs, and left the building to search for Loz. When I was back in the sky, I contacted Yazoo to warn him, saying "Yazoo, where are you?" Yazoo replied "I'm at the Forgotten City, Big Brother. I'm helping SEPHIROVA recover. She doesn't seem to be hurt bad, but she's very sleepy... I'm not sure why. What's going on?" I said "Loz is going berserk, he's raging out of control! I need you to help me find him and calm him to protect the kingdom. There's no time to argue, so please just move out and help me find him before this gets out of hand." Yazoo panicked "What?! I knew this would happen... I'm on my way, but the only ones left to stop him are you and me, Brother. Until SEPHIROVA awakens, we'll just have to do what we can ourselves. I can alert Sulbio too, but otherwise the rest is on us, I'm afraid." I agreed "That won't be a problem. The real challenge here will be finding a way to calm Loz without killing or seriously injuring him... Mother doesn't want us to fight each other, it even says in JENOVA Scriptures she wrote many years ago, long before she even set foot on this Planet. If he actually kills someone, something bad might happen and it will fall on us to fix it." Yazoo asked "Does he know that?" I replied "I'm not sure he's thinking about it. He has shown he knows that when he's in control, but when he's rampaging mindlessly like this all he can think about is getting his way. We have to stop him!" Yazoo agreed "Affirmative, Big Brother! I'm contacting Sulbio and will focus the next mission on finding and calming Loz." I thanked him, then kept my eyes on the ground below, trying to find Loz. I was remembering how Mother would be the one guiding me at times like this, and suddenly realized how strange it felt not hearing her talk to me and giving me hints and ideas to help with the mission. This was the strangest feeling I've had in years.
Meanwhile, in the Forgotten City...
SEPHIROVA was sleeping inside the deepest parts of the Forgotten City. She moaned, opening her eyes slowly. Her left eye went from a dim red to bright and strong red, and her right one from dim to a shining green. Though both were different in color, the pupils on both were exactly the same. She stood up slowly, and looked around the area. Confused, she wondered "Where... where am I? What is this place..?" She moaned again, trying to shake away the sleep. She tried to remember what happened before she slept, and began "The last thing I remember is... hearing Yazoo talk to me in the JENOVA Chamber..? So... why am I all the way back here?" SEPHIROVA was asleep for so long, she could barely remember what happened before she was unconscious. She saw the pool of black water, and went into it. Knowing of its healing properties, she drank some of it. Suddenly, she was aware of what was going on outside, and cried "Oh no, I have to protect them! And poor Loz... he needs me! No more time to investigate; I must do my job and help him!" A silver halo appeared above her head, and her entire being was booming with silver radiance to the point it was almost blinding to look at. She flew up until she was above the Forgotten City, and then used her powers to locate Loz and stop his rampage.
Meanwhile, Loz was running about, chasing Rufus...

You'll destroy us all!" I yelled "Madness? You're the monster here, not me! You killed Mother, and now I'm killing you in return! Prepare to die!" I warped some ways behind him, jabbing the ground and making a fissure that traveled fast. Rufus jumped to the side, barely avoiding it. Rufus scolded "Enough, Loz! Listen to me! Mother died to save your Sister! She wanted your Sister to secure a better future for her kingdom and rule as Queen in her place until her Fourth Coming happens!" I replied "You... know nothing..!" Unable to contain my hurt any longer, I cried "Just give it up! Give Mother back! Give her back and I won't kill you! Please..!!" Rufus approached me, and said "Loz, I'm sorry... I really am! I didn't want her to do it either, but an order is an order... I'm really sorry." I quickly got up, and cried "You liar! You betrayed us!" I got into a fighting stance, and prepared to hit Rufus with my dual hound as hard as I knew how. But when I wanted to make the move, I couldn't. I knew I wanted to kill him, but for some reason I felt paralyzed in a way that hindered me. I groaned, frustrated with the feeling. I tried to swing at him, but I couldn't move even an inch. I groaned "Gaahh..! Darn it!!!" Then I lowered my arm and started crying again. Rufus looked up, and said "What the..?!" My sobbing slowed, and I said "What..? Is it Mother..?" Rufus panicked, grabbing my arm and pulling me with him, and said "Move, Loz! Move!!" Confused, I pulled myself free and said "What are you doing, you idiot?" Rufus was frustrated, and complained "You know what, fine! Get hit by what's coming this way already! I'm done trying to reason with a dunce like you!" I groaned and yelled "Hey, watch it!" He ran off somewhere without another word. I felt guilty, and said "Ugh, he got away! He was right there, and even with my weapon I couldn't do a thing... I'm sorry, Mother..." Suddenly, I took notice of a large shadow on the ground that was rapidly getting bigger. I looked up, and saw a large meteoroid closing in, and said "Oops..." I ran away as fast as I could, avoiding the fissure I made. It crashed just behind me, and the aftershock knocked me to the ground. Slowly getting back on my feet, I turned to where it crashed and saw a woman dressed like Little Sister but who looked a lot like Mother at the same time. She was standing still, her long silver hair flowing behind her. Her left eye was red like Mother's, and her right was green with the same look but replaced with green brilliance. She was booming with silver radiance all over. It almost hurt just to look at her. She looked my way, and I asked "Who are you?" She drew closer to me, and said "I'm SEPHIROVA, your Little Sister... do you remember me, Brother?" Now I was really confused, and cried "What, huh..?! What kind of trickery is this?! How do you know me, and how do you know about Little Sister?" She kept her gaze fixed on me, and began to cry silently. Feeling immediate regret, I said "I'm sorry, I... I didn't mean to upset you... it's just that..." I approached and hugged her, then said "Mother... what in the world is happening..? I don't know what's going on anymore..." I heard Mother's voice say "It's her, Loz. That's your Sister. Trust her." I mumbled "Right..." then I let her go. She had a very mysterious look about her, much more than Sister Sephieroth had. I wondered if it was because of Mother's sacrifice. I asked "I, uh... excuse my attitude, please.... It's just that Mother's gone, and I went after Rufus to avenge her, but he was right there just a minute ago and I couldn't do anything, even though I desperately wanted to kill him, and... I don't know what to do anymore, and I don't know what's going on either. I didn't mean to take it out on you, so please Sister..." She smiled at me and said "It's ok, I know you weren't mad at me. I actually came to help you, and calm you down... you were in so much pain, and I just couldnt ignore that. I know you're difficult sometimes, but you're my Brother, Loz. What kind of Queen could I be if I can't even help my own Brother?" I felt a hint of happiness well up inside myself, and asked "You... you knew I was in trouble..?" She nodded slowly but remained silent. I said "Th-thank you..." I lunged into her, hugging her and crying. She put her arms around me, and said "It's ok, Loz. Remember, Mother isn't gone for good... she'll come back some day. I know you're sad and scared, but I'm right here. I won't let you suffer like this, Brother." I felt myself lift off the ground, and realized Sister was flying while holding me. I was amazed she could handle a brute like me, and cried "You can lift me?!" She giggled and said "I'm stronger than I look, Brother." I smiled and said "Sister... I love you. Thank you for helping me. If you hadn't come, I don't know what I would've done..." She smiled back at me and said "Of course! I'm just doing what Mother would want me to do. However, I don't think Rufus is going to let this slide easily... You wrecked the foundation's headquarters, Loz. That's JENOVA Kingdom's seat of intelligence and power. He is very angry, Brother. He may seem like a simple scientist, but he is strong." Concerned, I said "Oh no... what are we gonna do? He could be preparing attack as we speak!" SEPHIROVA sighed, then replied "I don't think he made it back just yet, so we still have some time to disarm the foundation somewhat... As you know, the foundation has various labs. When you attacked it, all the main labs were ruined completely, except for one, which happens to be the most threatening of them: the materia lab. Not long ago, Brother Rufus arranged experiments to mass produce black materia. The experiment was a success, and there's boxes of them stacked all over the storage room in there. If Rufus decides to use these for revenge, the consequences will be so brutal everything will be completely and utterly destroyed; so ruined, completely restoring the kingdom would be impossible. If we act quickly enough, we might be able to make off with these to get one step ahead of him. I also want you to destroy the materia labs after the all the black matetria are successfully secure." I said "Ok, but... how can we take all of those with only two of us? There's too many of them..." SEPHIROVA smiled and answered "That won't be a problem. Having completely inherited Mother's power from the Ultimate Sacrifice, I can easily reach the rest of JENOVA SOLDIER anywhere, anytime. I will contact the rest of the gang so they know what's going on. Hopefully we beat Rufus to this one. If we don't, the consequences will be deadly." It was amazing that this really was Little Sister. She acted so much like Mother! She even was using Mother's powers! I wasn't sad anymore; I actually felt really happy all of a sudden. I felt like I could get used to this. I wanted to make sure this next mission was a success. Not just because of the ugly consequences if we failed, but to make up for my behavior and clean up the mess I made; so Mother could be happy again.
