As the Nature Elementals got to work setting up the ring for the duel between Clover and Ruin, Ruin, Emby, and Aquaria were outside the throne room, chatting. "So, how long have you known Clover?", Emby asked. "For a while now. You see, I met him when I was young girl, visiting with the elder of our people. We would occasionally discuss when we'd have some of our purified water sent to them. Or rather, that was matters discussed by the Elder and the King. I would talk to Clover and play with him'", she explained. "Ah, so you're old friends!", Ruin smiled. Aquaria laughed a bit "Yes, we've been friends for a while now. Clover was pretty serious when he was younger, like now. But he soon turned to his playful side when I visited". Emby was about to speak up, when his hair flared a bit. "What's wrong?", Ruin asked. "I sense a Fire Elemental coming. I think your blade might be done, Ruin!", he told him, beaming. "If that's true, then let's go to the entrance. I've made peace for Emby, but if another Fire Elemental shows up, well..there may be trouble", Aquaria suggested. Just then, a guard came up behind them. "Null Elemental. The preparations for the duel are complete. I'm here to escort you". "What?? But we haven't" Emby began to protest. "Don't tell me you mean to waste the young sire's time!", the guard retorted. "It's fine, Emby. You two go, I'll follow the guard", Ruin said. The two nodded, and went out the castle.
Meanwhile, Ruin was led through a door which led outside to the ring. Nature Elementals were cheering for Clover to win, obviously. But that didn't faze him, he had a job to do. Clover can from the same door, and removed his regal cape. The younger female Elementals were swooning over him. "Looks like I'm a hit, and I've never even fought in front of them before", he sighed. "Does...this happen often?", Ruin asked, looking kind of embarrassed by it. "Err..More or less. Probably more", he said, stooping down. He touched the ground, and a beautiful flower grew from it! He picked it, and threw it where the girls were. Immediately, they began to grab it, fighting each other to get the flower. "It's MINE! He threw it at me"! "No, ME"! "He's been eyeing me for the longest! It's obviously MINE"!! Ruin just looked at Clover with a '...Really?' plastered on his face. "At least that'll keep them busy long enough to at least announce the match", he smiled wryly. "And now, the moment you've all been waiting for! The ones who will be fighting today will be our leader: King Clover!", the announcer shouted. Cheers filled the arena for their King, as Clover took a bow. "And here's the challenger, hailing from the Null Elementals: Ruin!", the announcer shouted. ...Nothing, not even a cough. Clover sighed, and stepped up on the arena. "My fellow Nature Elementals. Though he is a Null, he has come with great courage to fulfill his quest to save his village. That is something even I can't turn away from. It is most honorable", he said, and clapped for Ruin. The others soon joined in. "Eh, I guess the little Null is alright", one said. "I mean, leaving his home and risking the dangers of our land? Well, I guess that's notable", said another. "Well, he IS trying to help his people. Can't be all bad", one female said, clapping. "I always thought his spiky hair was kinda cool", replied another, smirking.
The announcer cleared his throat. "Thank you, King Clover, for that wonderful speech! Isn't he great, folks? Now let's this duel underway"! Clover and Ruin made their way up the stares and faced each other. "Before we start, where's Aquaria, and the Fire Elemental?", Clover asked. "Well, you see...My blade had gotten repaired, so they went to go get it at the gates", Ruin explained. "A balde, you say? Interesting, I never knew you were a swordsman. Well, we can't waste time waiting. Whenever they come, I will allow the use of it. Deal"? "Deal". They went to their corners, and waited for the signal. "Ready??? BEGIN!", the announcer yelled. In an instant, Clover grabbed a blade of grass, and it grew large and lengthy. '( Is he really going to attack me with grass?)", Ruin thought, as he charged forward confidently. However, as he grew closer, he could hear something like the wind being sliced through, so he quickly power slides under Clover's slash. To his shock, Ruin saw a few strands of his hair fall down. That wasn't just grass....Clover had used his powers to turn into a sharp grass blade! (No pun intended). "Are you finally realizing your mistake, Null Elemental?", Clover chuckled, twirling the grass blade. " While we make nature itself harvest marvelously, we can also use it for offense, as well as defense. Better not let me slice you to ribbons", he warned, and charged again!
