As many of you have recalled, Jade, the Dark Elemental told Ruin about how the Light Elementals could bring a being back from the dead, and also, that she new where they were. Ruin, unable to contain his excitement, shared the info with his friends. ...But they weren't as joyous as he was.
"But why??? This could be my only chance to revive my fallen
people!", Ruin protested. "Surely you can see that"!
"What I see, is a gullible Null Elemental, who'll believe anything
someone tells him. If that was true, how come it hasn't been
spread across to the other Elementals, then?", Clover replied.
"No offense, dude, but this is news to me as well. I've never
heard of the Light Elementals being able to do that", Terra
said, scratching his head.
"I've heard of them being able to do some pretty amazing
things, but reviving someone's life?", Aqauria added. "Seems too
good to be true"...
"Wait wait wait, I'm confused. So...Dark Elementals are bad guys,
right? But we're going to let this one join us..?", young Emby asked,
sitting on the ground, trying to think. All of this was confusing him.
"... Look, I understand your doubts about this. But if there's a chance
I can bring my people...my mom back...Dark Elemental or not,
I'm taking that chance", Ruin stated. He wasn't going to change his
mind, either.
"Fine then. If you wanna go gallivanting about with an Elemental,
who you know good and well who's race is responsible for
murdering your race, go ahead. But I'm not gonna be there to watch
it go down in flames", Clover scoffed.
"Clover, wasn't that a bit harsh?", Aquaria asked.
"He does sorta have a point, little lady. I mean, sure, she saved him,
but I wouldn't go that far as to trust someone who tried to kill me",
Terra added.
All the while, Ruin was becoming doubtful of his own decision. What
Jade said...was it really possible? Could it really be done? Maybe he
was being a bit too trusting of this girl... But, what if it was true??? To
see his mother's smile again is what he yearned for more than
anything right now.
"....If you don't want to go, I won't force you", he said. That made
everyone stop and look at him. "It was wrong of me to expect any of
you to do something as farfetched sounding as this without any sort
of evidence. But as for me, I'm going there to see if it's true".
"And what if it's not, huh? What're you going to do, then?", Clover
asked.
"... Probably live the rest of my days in solitude. I don't...think I want
to do anything else. What would getting revenge on Jhuter get me,
anyway"?
Emby ran up to him. "I can't go, cuz pop would be pretty worried.
But come back, ok? I still wanna do stuff with you like we used to"!
"How touching...",Jade said, rising from the shadow of a nearby tree.
"And there's the one whispering sweet-nothingess in this one's
ear", Clover scoffed, standing up.
"Feeling a bit spicy, plant boy? Why don't you put that in a soup, or
something"?
"Why I oughtoughta...".
"Anyway, I'm gonna tell you guys the exact thing I told 'Little boy
Null' over here: About them Light Elementals? It's just a rumor. No
one knows if it's true or not, not even me. But he still wants to look
anyways, so I'ma walk him there. So who's going with? Or are you
staying here like bumps on a log"?
"I'm not going anywhere, or doing anything that involves sticking
with a Dark Elemental. If Ruin was smart, he wouldn't, either",
Clover remarked.
"The story seems so...iffy. I'm not sure if I'd be willing to make that
such a journey for naught", Aquaria said as politely as she could.
"As much I'd want to accompany you dude, I'ma pass. I'll wait here
with Emby, though. If it makes you feel better", Terra answered.
"Wow, no one, huh? And I thought they were supposed to be your
'friends'", Jade scoffed. "All I hear is: We've stayed with this Null
long enough".
"Do you want me to slice you in half!?", Clover yelled, running at her,
but Aquaria held him back.
"Please calm yourself, Clover!", she exclaimed. Clover seethed for a
a bit, and turned away.
"Colorful bunch of folks you met, Ruin. Not really what I'd call
'friends till the end'... Anyway, if that's all you guys have to say
on this, looks like it's gonna be just me and him~", Jade chuckled, as
she put her arm around his shoulder. Ruin still couldn't believe
none of the people he met so long ago would join him. He would,
if the roles were reversed.
"Looks like this is where we part ways, it seems. I don't know if this
will change anything between us, but I hope we can still remain
friends when I return", he said, ever hopeful.
"Always!", Emby exclaimed.
"Yes, of course!", Aqauria added.
"... We'll see", Clover scoffed.
"Still bros, right?", Terra said, giving a thumbsup.
"Huh, maybe I was wrong... Alright then, Null. Let's get going. Since
I have a load to carry, I can't use the shadows to travel. We're gonna
be walking", Jade said, walking away.
Ruin nodded, and proceeded to follow her, when Aqauria ran up to
him.
" ? What is it, Aqauria?", he asked.
She looked up at him, and gave him a hug. "Take care of yourself,
Ruin. Come back safely", she whispered.
Ruin nodded with a smile, and ran up to Jade.
It seems that, in this surprising turn of events, Ruin will be traveling
only with the company of Jade, the Dark Elemental to where the
Light Elementals reside. Will they truly be able to bring back his
people, or will he go back in shame? And can he trust Jade to get him
there safely???
