Ruin and Emby left the house to find Elementals to help the Null Elementals. But first, Ruin insisted that Emby tell his parents that he was leaving with him. "Hope you packed something light. Where the Fire Elementals live is not exactly the cool", Emby said. "I don't get it, what's different about your village?", Ruin wondered. "It's super hot! Just the way we like it! If you aren't one of us, or... A Water Elemental...you'd probably burn to death", the little boy explained. Ruin blinked cautiously. Burn to death? Maybe he should wait outside...
The land of the Elementals is vast. They aren't the only ones who live there. Many creatures live there as well. Some Elementals keeps some as livestock to make clothes, and eat. Some as pets. Others are very vicious, so they have keep a close eye on them so that they don't overrun their villages. Suddenly, a bear-like creature with bellowing flames from its spine ran in front of them! "Whoa!", Ruin exclaimed, jumping back. " Rats, I was hoping we wouldn't run into one of these...", Emby sighed. "What is that thing!?", Ruin asked, reaching for his sword. "You...never seen a Flare Bear before?? These things are a huge annoyance with us! They eat things that sparks fire, and flames like us. They also try to eat us as well", Emby told him, not taking his eyes off the beast. "(This thing eats Fire Elementals??? Unbelievable!)", Ruin thought. The Flare Bear charged Emby, but the boy was quick on his feet, swiftly dodging the beast. "Ruin! Try using your blade,ok?? I'll distract him with my fire!", Emby called, and quickly flared up. The Flare Bear slowly walked towards Emby, salivating at his fire. Ruin drew his blade and tried to get close, but the heat was too much. "(Darn it! I have to take it down, or Emby's finished! But what do I do???)", he wondered. Then,he noticed a small pond a little ways from the beast. He ran towards the pond, and dived in. "(What in the world is that guy doing???)", Emby thought, slowly backing away from the Flare Bear. With all his clothes damp, Ruin charged the Flare Bear, jumped, and delivered a huge blow to its head! It roared in pain, and fell down. Ruin took his blade out of his head, and slashed off the blood. "Calìenté! That was awesome!!!", Emby cheered. Ruin smiled. "Just glad you're safe. Let's keep going".
Judging that the Flare Bear was close by, Emby easily led them to Fire Village. The heat emitting off the entrance alone made Ruin have to stand back. " I'll finish here. Then we can go,ok?", Emby said. Ruin nodded, and the boy went inside. Wile he waited, he sensed something coming behind him, making him roll to the side! It was a fireball! "Well well, what have we here?", a voice said. "Looks like one of those Nulls..", another said. "What's one doing in OUR domain?", asked a third voice. Ruin looked up, and saw three Fire Elementals around his age hovering over his head. "Uh-oh..", he gulped. "So what's the deal, huh? Why'd crawl out of your little hole?", the seemingly leader asked. "I'm looking for other Elementals to help my village live", Ruin told him. " HA! As if we'd ever go there! We might catch what you guys have and become Nulls ourselves!", the other Elemental teased. "Yeah, that place is for the reject Elementals. Makes sense not to go there and lose our powers", scoffed the third. "You should be ashamed of yourself, trying to put us in danger for your own desires!", the leader yelled, hurling another fireball at Ruin! Ruin barely blocked with his sword, but the force of it knocked him on his butt. " See? You're too weak to do anything! You Nulls should just shrivel and die"! Those words reminded him of his dad, who always told Ruin to never try to do anything. It made him angry just thinking about it. "You..smoldering ember..", he uttered, standing up. "How dare you!? We'll make you burn to ashes!!!", the leader yelled, as they charged huge fireballs at him.
"STOP!", Emby yelled, running in front of his friend. "....Move out of the way, runt. This Null's gonna die", the leader said, aiming his fireball at him. "You guys better back off! Or I'm telling my dad on you!", Emby blurted. "Dude, his dad's the chief of our village...Maybe we should-", the other Fire Elemental started to say when he was cut off. "Put a lid on it! You disgrace our Chief if you defend him"! "Who says he disgraces me?", a deep voice asked. The three troublemakers turned, and saw a very large man with bellowing flames shooting from his head standing behind them, arms folded. "I-It's the Chief!!", they yelled, quickling lowering their flames in respect. "Go", he simply said, and they took off!
"Are you the one called Ruin"? "Yes sir..",he replied, a little intimidated, but still standing. "My son told me how you saved him from a Flare Bear, and that he wants to accompany you on your journey to restore your village...Emby has taken a liking to you it seems, which is rare", the chief said, extending his hand. Ruin looked up, and shook his hand. " I am Ignite, Chief of the Fire Village. I thank you for saving my son. I trust that you will watch over him?", he asked. "Of course! You can rely on me, sir", Ruin replied. Ignite smiled. "Then allow me to grant you something that will make it easier to enter our village". He took off red ring off of his finger, and gave it to him. "This is a Fire Elemental ring. It fused with fire magic to help shield against Flare Bears and other fire beasts. However, if you wear it, you will be shielded from high temperatures", he explained. "Dad wears it because it looks regal. He doesn't need it", Emby winked. As soon as Ruin put it on, he felt a warm sensation course through his body, with a red glow coming off! Then it disappeared. Now it didn't feel too hot standing near the village.
"Emby, my son. Remember what I have taught you. If you value this young man as your friend, use your powers to aid him. Know that I will pray for you to return", Ignite said ,hugging his son. "I.. I'll do my best, dad!", Emby replied, wiping his eye. Now equipped with the Fire Ring, and Emby saying his goodbyes, the two Elementals, Null and Fire set off to find the next village.
