After Emby said his goodbyes to his father and the Fire Village, he rejoined with Ruin, who had just gotten the Fire Ring so that now he could protect himself against high temperatures. Thus, the two now journeyed to where the Water Elementals lived. Only...they had no idea where that was.
"Hey, Ruin? We're...not lost, are we?", Emby asked, scratching his head. Ruin looked around. "Hard to to say...But I think, maybe?", he replied. "This is where it ends??? Man, I thought it would've been longer than this"! "Don't worry, we just need to find someone who's familiar with where the Water Elementals live. We do that, and we can start again". He said that, but Ruin hadn't a clue to where such a person resided. "You boys look lost. Need some help?", a voice called. Ruin and Emby looked around. "Who's there?", Emby called back. "Hey, down here"... When the two looked down, they saw a striped cat looking back up at them. "Uhh, Ruin? Do cats talk"? "Last time I checked: No". "You guys really need to get out more...There's a handful of mystical creatures out in this world. You'd do well to remember that", the cat sighed. "Sorry. Excuse us, but do you know where the Water Elementals are?", Ruin asked. " Why, certainly. Over those three hills, you'll find a large body of water. The Water Elementals are in their underwater city", the cat explained. "Got it, thanks!", Ruin exclaimed. "Now hold on. How exactly do you plan on getting in there?", the cat asked. Ruin and Emby looked at each other questioningly. "If you jump in, how long do you plan on holding your breath, Null Elemental? And if you jump in there, Fire Elemental, your powers are gone. And you can't attack anyone if things get rough until you dry off again". "I don't know, but we have to try! We need a Water Elemental!", Ruin exclaimed. the cat looked at them. "I'm really not supposed to do this...but I'll cast barrier around you two. That way, you can enter their city without drowning. But be warned: This lasts for two days. If you stay any long, you'll drown". "As much as I don't wanna go there..I'll go if you want to, Ruin!", Emby flared with determination. "Thanks, my friend", Ruin smiled. The cat nodded, and cast Water Barriers around the Elementals. "You two seem headstrong. Go, and good luck on your quest. And Fire Elemental? Don't use your fire, or your barrier will weaken as if it was attacked", the cat meowed, and left.
Ready to go, the two crossed the three hills, and found the body of water. With no hesitation, they dove inside, and surpringly, fell on a pathway. "Guess we follow this to the city?", Ruin asked. Emby nodded, and followed Ruin along the path. As they walked, they saw the marine life swimming by. It was spectacular! They thought it couldn't get any better, until they reached it: The City of Water! "Whooooooaaa! This place is awesome!", Emby marveled. Even though he was a Fire Elemental, there was no denying that the city was amazing. Ruin was a little weak in the knees from the spectacle. He always dreamed of exploring the different places in the world. And finally, it was happening! He quickly came to and realized his reason for being here. "C'mon Emby. We have to find a Water Elemental who'll agree to bring life to our waters", he said. Strangely enough, they didn't see any Water Elementals anywhere. The place seemed almost empty...
The two wandered the city for a good half hour, looking in different places, calling out, with no luck. Until Emby spotted a large crowd of Water Elementals standing on an outstretched platform, as if they were waiting for something. "Hey, there they are! Let's go!", Emby exclaimed, but Ruin stopped him. "Hold on, something doesn't seem right...their faces look almost fearful", he said in a hushed voice.
Suddenly, they felt a huge tremor... A massive beast came walking towards them, with teeth like a shark, and a shark's dorsal fin on its head! "All assembled again.. Lovely...So, which one of you has chosen to come with me this time?", it said in a raspy voice. One Water Elemental stepped in front of the rest. "I have. You will agree to our demands like you promised, right?", she asked bravely, with a hint of uneasiness in her tone. "If you give yourself to me to quench my thirst with the purest of Water Elementals...I will no longer come to your city. Yes yes, I remember. But I'll have to taste test first...", the beast's eyes squinted as he grabbed her in his clawed fist. She struggled to free herself from his grip, but to no avail... Ruin and Emby watched from around a building. "What's that monster doing???", Emby whispered. "I don't know...", Ruin whispered back. As the monster squeezed, she whimpered in pain as she began to glow light-blue. Water formed around her, drizzled down her body. The beast then disgustingly lapped up the water from her toes. "Purified to perfection..Very well", he uttered, and left with her and hand. The Water Elementals sighed, and looked gloomy.
"T-this isn't right...How can we let another one of our own be lost to that beast!?", one cried out. "There's nothing we can do...Sharnoc is too powerful for us to take on...", the elder replied. "Aquaria, our most pure Water Elemental gave her life so that we can live in peace. We must not let her sacrifice go to waste, my children". Sadly, they started back to their city. "Hey, can we help you?", Ruin asked. They turned around. " Is that a Null Elemental?? Great...How in the world did you make it down here without drowning", one scoffed. "We don't need another problem on our hands. Just go away", said another. "Hey! Quit talking to my buddy like that, you idiots!", Emby yelled. "A Fire Elemental!? Here!? Put it out quickly before he destroys something!", they yelled in a panic as they charge them! "Wait!", Ruin exclaimed, but it was no use. Not wanting to hurt them, he simply pushed most to the side, or flipped them. Emby was at a huge disadvantage, for the Water Elementals used a water prison to hold him in place. "Why have you come here? To make our lives more miserable??", the Elder asked. "No, we want to help you!", Ruin pleaded. All of the Water Elementals stopped, as Ruin stood up. "Me and Emby seek your help. But we witnessed what was going on here. We want to lend you our assistance, and defeat the one who has been terrorizing your city and hurting those who you care about", he explained.
The Water Elementals pondered this. Why would A Null Elemental, and a Fire, Fire, their own enemy, help them??? The Elder stepped forward. "If what you say is true...then please listen to our tale of woe"... ~Part 5 End
