The next morning,Ruin did his regular routine, which was chopping wood,hunting,and bringing back water for his family.Despite what his father said,he still wanted to help out. "I'm a Null Elemental...I have no power?? Maybe I don't,but I'm doing more than you,at least", he mumbled as went to go collect wood. Suddenly,he heard crackling,the same sound fire made when his mother cooked.Was it a fire in the forest??? Not waiting around,he dashed to see how bad it was...But what he found amazed him...
" Awesome! Nothing like a little snack to put some spark back into ya!",a small boy said,munching on wood chips.The boy's hair was engulfed in flames,flaring straight up as consumed the wood chips.Either he was seeing things,or Ruin just found a Fire Elemental! "Uhh,hello?", he said,cautiously walking up to him. The small boy turned around. " Huh? Who are you?? Bwaah! D-don't tell me these were your wood chips! Sorry,I'm sorry!",he apologized,bowing his head in respect. "Hey whoa,it's fine.That's actually from yesterday when I was out chopping wood", Ruin explained, smiling. "For real!? So I can have em'"??? "Fine be me,knock yourself out".
Letting a big grin spread across his face,the boy quickly consumed the wood chips. "Hey,thanks for that! Yeaaaah,my flames are looking great!", he exclaimed. "No worries,it's fine.But wait,you're a Fire Elemental...What're you doing here?", Ruin asked. " Huh? Well,I got bored,so I went exploring.You gonna tell my parents?",the boy asked,jokingly. "That actually sounds pretty fun.I wanna see what's out there myself.Maybe I can bring something out to help my village",Ruin replied. " Haa? Your village"? He looked up at Run.He noticed he had silverish-gray hair,and pale blue eyes. "Yo,are you one of those Null Elementals? My folks told me about you guys". Ruin blinked. " Really? What'd they say"? "Mm-hm! They said you guys are super lame because you don't belong to any elements.And some of their lameness could rub off on me if I got too close", the boy said.
Ruin looked embarrassed. Is this really what the other Elementals thought of Nulls? " Eh,but you don't look lame to me.And that's one one cool hairdo! What's your name,huh?",the boy grinned. "My name's Ruin,what's yours?", he asked,extending his hand.The boy reached out and shook it.He felt like his hand was heating up really fast...too fast! " The name's Emby! Nice to meet ya!",he winked! Though his hand was searing,Ruin couldn't help but feel a bit happy.If there were more kindhearted Elementals like Emby around...maybe...just maybe there could be hope for his village yet! ~Part 2 End
