So Nintendo announced splatoon for the Wii U a long time ago and it was a great move to popularize the Wii U to the gamers in the world. The next smart move to make would be splatoon 3D which can be made to be compatible only with the New 3ds variants. CoD probably isn't coming for the 3DS... So if Nintendo manages to convince mobile companies to make games for the 3DS ( like Modern Combat and Shadow gun). More people would be interested in the game...even the hardcore gamers out there!!!
Companies like Gameloft can also debut big games to consoles through Nintendo.
