My Villager Strategy

My Villager Strategy

Properly playing villager:
Villager is a great character, also top tier. What's great about him? Lloid rockets, yes. Lloid rockets are a great projectile it may not do much but it can stop some attacks. (Smash attacks, slow tilts, etc.) Use them, also throw some lloid rockets when getting back on stage. Or to trick opponents, mid-air loid rocket they'll usually do an up-smash. If they do try using turnips or neutral.

Pocket:
Pocket can be pretty OP but it's great. If you go against opponents that throw infinite projectiles like robin, wft sun salutation, pikachu's bolts. It can get pretty annoying but useful in those situations, pocket one and don't throw it immediately it's too obvious what you wanna do is deal damage on them and when they don't expect it throw it back at them. But if you go against opponents like wario with his bike, bowser jr. And his koopas, wft and his/her soccer ball. You want to pocket that and try to never give it back since they can't use another one until it's unpocketed. The pocket time is 30sec. After that your pocket resets time is strict. What you wanna do is throw it back and try to pocket it back to refresh the time.

Timber:
Timber is a move that not a lot of people fall for, but it's a great move. Place the tree and leave it there, chop once from each side for easier hit (optional) by that I mean use your axe on each side that way if your opponent is on the left and near the tree use your axe to chop it down ans easy KO. Of course you can just leave the tree there and use your axe for damage and great range! Although if you go against someone that hates trees they'll immediately try to kill it if they're left open you can use your chance to use any tilt, axe, or grab. Up to you.

Ledge punish:
Bowling ball is a great ledge punish falls all the way down to the stage. If you have someone getting back on the stage you should bowling ball them it'll be a straight up KO. Depending on their percentage. If they air dodge you can of course always try again if they always air dodge you know you have to wait 1 second and then release bowling ball so the dodge can end. If they don't have that always air dodge pattern you can just guess if they'll do it of course that's up to you. Another great ledge punish is the tree. The tree is large enough to KO anyone! Simply place the tree by the edge of the stage and chop it down to KO them.

I also forgot to mention you can also use pocket for ness' recovery. Well that's all for now I hope you found this useful.

I'm glad you found this useful, but remember don't rush with villager let them come to you. I've once gotten my opponent to 150% by being defensive and noticing patterns. Probably at around 130% a backthrow should do it (depending on who it is) but just be defensive and throw lloid rockets and plant trees when you can
Timber can also be used for a defensive wall as well :3

Well yea but the tree onlyhas like 52% of health and some attacks can go tthrough the tree like MM metal blade. But either way whatever works for you is fine :D
Yep, Villager is a pretty good character because of said techniques.
Ah oh i mistook the wtf the first time i read :o
