(This is part 2 of Chapter 9. Be sure to check part 1 out to know what's going on.)
When Andy had finished his Cinnamon Roll, his sense of urgency came back. He needed to save the Jirachi before Pokextinction sucks up too much power from the Pokemon. He took his bag and proceeded to stick the keys in the third door. Key 1 slid in one lock, and Key 2 slid in the next. The door opened, and he went in.
The temperature seemed to drop as soon as he entered the room. The door slammed shut behind him, and he walked into the center of the room. The platform he was standing on was an iceberg, and water surrounded it. If Andy had learned anything from the past two rooms, this Pokemon was probably an ice-water type.
As Andy was going over this, he heard a crack, and the ice bridge that he walked in from was cut and fell into the water. The splash was freezing as it touched Andy. He knew this Pokemon's strategy. Andy now realized that is he wanted to make it out of this battle, he'll have to avoid the water as much as possible.
His theory was correct; a huge bump was made on one end of the ice, and Andy was sent sliding down the other. He was pawing at the ice in vain. In desperation, he stuck one of his hand spikes into the ice. It worked, and Andy was now hanging off the side.
The attacker seemed to be aware of this. It soon stopped hitting the ice. Andy had to end this battle quickly. He closed his eyes and saw the aura. He saw an aura blob beneath the ice. It was heading up to the sides again. However, rather than tilt the ice, it rose from the water. It was a Lapras.
The Lapras started to have ice form from it's mouth. It was about to use Ice Beam! As the beam fired, Andy leaped out of the way, but barely kept himself from falling as he slid.
How am I going to do this? Flame Kick will melt the ice, and will be nullified by the water typing.
Andy decided that he would have to use Aura Sphere, but to time it carefully. If it hit the ice, it would make things difficult.
The Lapras rose again, but it was preparing Thunderbolt instead. Andy quickly gathered an Aura shot, and flung it at the Lapras. It was hit, and it collapsed on the ice berg, before sinking back down. The ice was split in half, and Andy found himself on drifting ice. Andy didn't have time to think. He had to finish this fight. He braced himself as the ice was suddenly flipped.
The water was incredibly cold. Andy could feel his body growing colder and colder. Hypothermia would quickly come, so Andy focused as he could. He saw a blob coming at incredibly fast speeds towards him. In a panic, he shot the sphere. It made contact.
One more it, and it's down for su-
Andy noticed the Lapras was no longer agile. It seemed to know the danger Andy was in, and it swiftly made a new ice bridge and put Andy on it.
"H-H-H-Huh? W-W-Why are you d-d-doing this-s-s?"
"Because you needed to get out. You are a formidable fighter, and nearly took me down. I had to surrender because if I had fainted, no one would rescue you, and you really would have died."
"Here," the Lapras dove under the water and brought back with it a key. "Use this to get to the final room. Thank you for the splendid battle."
The Lapras dove under the water. Andy shouted his thanks, and quickly left the room. He grabbed the other keys, threw them to join his stuff, and shook himself off like a dog.
That felt weird.
Andy, now being dry, quickly took his sleeping bag out, and got in. He was immediately greeted with warmth and comfort. He relaxed as he felt his body go up to normal temperatures. When things were back to normal, he wrapped up his sleeping bag and got the keys. As he inserted the keys into the final locks, he felt himself grow nervous. Pushing that aside, he entered the room.
The first thing he saw was lava, and a few artificial peaks. He looked around and didn't see anything. He tried to use the Aura, but he couldn't see anything. He began to wonder if anyone was actually here, when he heard a mighty roar.
A Dragonite had suddenly appeared, and his landing shook the ground. He immediately began to charge a large beam, and fired it at Andy. Andy was too late to dodge; he was struck, and he was badly hurt. It was a Hyper Beam.
The Dragonite looked like he needed to recover himself. Andy used this opportunity and launched a Dragon Pulse. Andy felt the Adrenaline pumping as he fired another Dragon Pulse, hitting the dragon again. Now it was fully recovered, and it flew very high.
Andy could tell that Dragonite was about to use Fly. He knew that if he took this hit, he would faint.
C'mon! Think! Andy suddenly remembered that in one episode of Pokemon, it was shown that Lucario was so agile he could leap off of steep slopes in rapid speed.
Andy took this into consideration and took a leap towards a pillar. As he landed, he felt gravity push hum down, and he leaped off gain.
The Dragonite was coming closer. Andy leaped towards it, and started Dragon Pulse. The results of this match now depended on who would miss.
It was Andy that missed. The pulse made contacted the ceiling, and he was hit by fly. He felt his energy drain rapidly from him. He couldn't have the energy to right himself. As he was falling, the Dragonite pinned him against the pillar in mid air.
Andy was holding on to the last of his energy. If this were like the games, Andy felt he would have had about 1 HP left. The Dragonite opened it's mouth, and was charging another Hyper Beam. Andy mustered up the strength to try Dragon Pulse one more time. He had to hit. He had to save the Jirachi.
Andy fired, and the Dragon Pulse hit the Dragonite as it he ate it. He let out a roar, and He flew Andy down towards the ground. He roared again, and flew away.
Andy collapsed. Never before had he come that close in a battle. He laid there for a while as he felt his energy come back. When he could stand up again, he looked towards the door to find a key in the lock already. He pushed and turned, grabbed that and the last four keys, and ate another cinnamon roll.
This was it. He had won the Elite 4 of this base! He gathered up his things and walked towards the door that he came in to this challenge. He now noticed four keyholes that he didn't see there before. He took the keys and put them in each of their keyholes. As he did, he remembered the battles he had.
Mismagius, Tyranitar, Lapras, Dragonite. Whoever choreographed this team was impressive, but the were all beat. As he opened the door, he saw West and Claire waiting at the door.
"Andy! You're alright!" They came towards Andy and gave him pat on the backs 'Good Job!'s.
"That must have been record time! You were only in there for about three hours! Most Pokemon take about half a day!" West exclaimed.
"Thanks, West, but I really need to do the final battle with whoever Xander chooses."
"Oh, that's right!" Clair responded. "Xander sent us to get you! C'mon, grab the keys and let's go!"
