As some of you know, I've been looking for a villager named Chief for a long time due to nostalgic reasons and just because he's plain awesome to me.
I've tried countless times on sites offering something in exchange for him, with no success at all.
I've tried resetting with a new character for someone to move in, but sadly my game kindly locked the nature the villager has moving to my town to snooty. Bleh.
Then I looked at the campsite for help, doing that wasn't helpful at all either. So I gave up with that plan and went all out and deleted my town to try reset for him as a starter. What did I get? A town full of frogs. And I mean full of them. ALL of the villagers that greeted the new mayor were those freaky amphibians. I was scared [thanks very much to dinosaur documentaries of giant frogs eating small dinos
]. Oh, and I also got Lucky the dog as a starter but I have a fear of mummies so that didn't do anything... much to my younger sibling's disappointment. Kinda hoping for Goldie or something to pop up so I'd have an excuse to say "Well, Goldie's in this town and I like Goldie so sorry Chief!" But nope. No Goldie, Cookie, Butch, or Beau... or anyone I liked for that matter. 
And finally, after I was sick and tired of everything I gave my 3DS to previously mentioned sibling and told them to reset until we got a wolf villager. Be it Lobo, Kyle (if that is possible), or maaaaaybe Chief? They didn't get any of said wolves, but after an hour or so came running to me and smiling saying: "We got a cool wolf!" I was doubtful, but when they showed me the all and glorious crankeh wolf named Wolfgang I decided to keep the town.(

Noooow, most of my friends have AC:NL so I had quite a few people I could go visit. It just so happened I was visiting a friend who I'll call Vaporeon. She hadn't played in awhile, so a couple of things had happened to her town.
I was just helpin' her get rid of the weed apocalypse she was having at the time, when she walked off somewhere - I assumed to go attack another part of the weed invasion. But she called to me and said:
"Someone new moved in. o4o;;" And brought me over to the new villager's house. I didn't suspect anything, but I was confused why she was telling me this. I didn't even bother to read who lived there, since she just waited for me to go in. So I did.
GUESS WHO WAS THERE?
Chief.
I was so flabbergasted and shocked/stunned I started to cry in happiness and begged her to let me have him once he moved. I still thank her for saying yes.
And that concludes the funny yet shocking villager experience I've had.
