Supahsawnik99 Reviews: Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS/Wii U
Overview: Nintendo's All-Stars clash once again! Mario, Link, Kirby, and Pikachu are all here beating each other up again! This time, with the likes of Mega Man and many more new challengers, does SSB4 demolish its predecessors? Let's find out.
The roster (with all DLC included) includes a grand total of 58 characters! The newcomers include the Animal Crossing Villager, Wii Fit Trainer, Mega Man, Rosalina from Super Mario Galaxy, Little Mac from Punch-Out, Greninja from Pokèmon X and Y, Palutena and Dark Pit from Kid Icarus: Uprising, Pac-Man, Mii's, Shulk from Xenoblade Chronicles, Robin and Lucina from Fire Emblem: Awakening, Bowser Jr. from various Mario games, the dog and duck from Duck Hunt, Street Fighter's Ryu, Final Fantasy VII's Cloud Strife, and, more recently, Corrin from Fire Emblem: Fates, and even Bayonetta! Otherwise, majority of the characters from the other characters are here, only leaving a few behind. The stage amount is the largest we've ever seen! Featuring stages from all four iterations of Smash, there's something for everyone! The gameplay is great. Everybody is fast, fluent, and can even pull of a good combo of two! The Online features found in these games are also quite interesting, too. You can even share screenshots, replays, Mii Fighters, and custom stages with other people via the Internet, and the Tourney mode from Brawl is back, too. But, only for online. But, while this game is very good, there are a few problems with these games, though, and one of them is the lack of modes. Sure, Classic and All-Star are back, but, what about the Target Test and Boss Battles from Brawl? Adventure Mode from Melee? But, even with the lack of modes, there is one new mode for each version. The Wii U version gets a new mode called Smash Tour, which is kind of like Mario Party, but, replace mini-games with Smash Battles. The mode is nice, but not as fun as the 3DS Exclusive mode, Smash Run. In Smash Run, you have 5 minutes to explore a huge labyrinth to defeat enemies and power your character up to prepare for a final showdown. Smash Run's labyrinth has many similarities to Brawl's story mode, the Subspace Emissary. There is another mode, which can be played on both versions: Target Blast. This mode has you beating up a bomb, then launching it to destroy targets. Think of it as Angry Birds in Smash Bros.. While these modes are fun, they don't leave much of an impression afterwards. Another problem with Smash 4 are the custom Movesets, as they don't leave you with much variety. Each character only has three customs for each of their special moves, Mii Fighters included. And, you know what's worse? You have to unlock them all! Luckily, this can be done by playing Classic or All-Star Modes. Either way, Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U is a great multiplayer game, wether you're playing with friends, or an amiibo figure or two, you're bound to have some good times in these games!
