Then, it happens. Jiro gets summoned to the ancient temple of the titans. There, he witnesses his sister being slaughtered by Lord Akuma's forces. Legend states that the path to the six swords will only be revealed by dousing the map paper with the life blood of a relative of the swords' creator. The group intercepts the map soon after. They only manage to find three of the remaining swords, only leaving the sword of fire to be found. Then, Jiro is reminded of a dark memory he'd rather forget: he sees another city burn at the hands of Lord Akuma. He scours the area for survivors, but only manages to find a burnt insignia: the family crest of one of his closest friends. He breaks down and leaves the team, saying how to never wanted any of this to happen and how he didn't mean for anyone to get killed. Now his only remaining family and his only other thing close to family have been destroyed. The other members of the group are captured by Akuma, leaving only Jiro and master Hiroshi remaining. Jiro, still in his breakdown, throws his electro-staff, a weapon given to him by his father before he left, and finds something extraordinary: the sword of fire had been hidden inside of it all along. He manages to find master Hiroshi and tries to get to the underworld to help out his friends, but there is no way to get there other than to die. But there is only one other way that Jiro knows of: dragons. They are the natural gateway between the underworld and the overworld. Jiro leads Hiroshi to an area given to him through coordinates in an engraving on the sword of fire. There, he finds the legendary fire Titan. They travel to the underworld using the Titan. Jiro goes to free his friends while Hiroshi faces off against Akuma. It is already too late, because Akuma now has all of the swords and quickly uses them to overpower Jiro and Hiroshi, shortly after Jiro frees the others. Akuma uses the swords to create a portal for him to finally pass into the overworld and cause his own destruction. Something inside of Jiro ignites. He runs over to the swords and tries to close the portal. Kure, Gorehn, and Tetsu get their swords back and use them to defeat Lord Akuma, for now. While in the underworld, Jiro sees his sister's spirit, telling him to bring her body back to the monestary. After they manage to escape the underworld, Hiroshi lays down his life to bring back Yui. All is right, for now.
