What a coincidence, I just had a substitute teacher in chemistry today who told our class a little bit of information about Pluto. The astronomer who discovered Pluto was named Clyde Tombaugh, and he was from my state, Illinois. The substitute teacher said that Tombaugh died in the 1990s, but before he died, he asked for his ashes to be sent to Pluto aboard a spacecraft when the technology became available. His ashes are currently flying through space and are expected to arrive on Pluto this summer.
