so here´s the thing:
so i have two friends but they aren´t even acquainted to each other, one of them is part of the football team and we get along pretty well so we´ll call him Dan , the other one is his complete opposite, he doesn´t do sports but he does play video games all day and live in social networks, we´ll call him Robbie. my football friend Dan went away with the team for a tourney and he would come back the next week from the day he left, so i spent a lot of time with my social network addicted friend Robbie. My friend Dan sent me a text of him saying that they won and the team would go out to celebrate on sunday, which was yesterday, and i was invited too and i was about to accept when robbie also invited me to go out and eat pizza on sunday as well, that day was the only one day available for him but i had to tell him that i would think about it because i didn´t know if i had to do anything on sunday and Robbie´s like:
"ok man"
so i´m laying on my bed thinking who should i choose because having them together was out of the question because they don´t get along at all and i couldn´t ask neither of them to change the date because they wouldn´t do it, so i chose to go with Dan because i had spent a lot of time with Robbie anyways and one day without me wouldn´t hurt him, or so i thought. I wanted to let him off easy so i texted Robbie to tell him that i was getting sick and i couldn´t go with him on sunday to what he replied nicely, so i was free to go with Dan and the team to celebrate their victory.
i had fun and went back home after it was over.
next day of school, which was today, i´m in my break from class, miding my own bussiness when my friend robbie walks up to me and i´m like:
"hey what´s up?"
and he´s like:
"how could you do this to me? i saw you hanging out with the football team the day you said you couldn´t come over because you were suppossedly sick!"
so i just stood there and told him that i wasn´t with them and he took out his phone and showed me a picture of me with Dan and the team so i had to come clean to him so i told him that i did lie and i was sorry and he took it easy on me and he ended up forgiving me but with the condition the i wouldn´t lie to him anymore and i agreed so he invited me to go eat with him again and just as i was about to accept the invitation, Dan walked up on us and asked me if i wanted to hang out with him and the team after school but Robbie interrupted him saying that he and i already had plans after school but Dan has a bit of a sharp tongue sometimes so he said:
"well i asked HIM(me) not you, it´s not like he refused anyways, besides, are you his girlfriend to tell him where to go or what to do?"
and Robbie responded:
but he was about to accept my invitation to go hang out with ME but then you showed up!!.
so they started hurling insults and i was trying to calm both of them down to no avail, they both started claiming that i was their best friend and that i preffered them individually so i told them that it wasn´t true because both of them were my best friends but they wouldn´t listen to me.
after they made a scene, Dan said:
"MY best friend ian and i will go have fun with the football team!"
and Robbie says:
"no, MY best friend ian and i are going to have a very fun time hanging out and eating pizza, right ian?
and to make matters worse, both of them said that if i pick the other person instead of them then they will cut all ties between me and that person so i stood there and tried to convince them that i can be with both of them but they refused angrily and Robbie suggested:
"then let´s give him time to choose who is it that he prefers, he´s gonna choose me anyways"
and Dan agreed so they left and now i´m home thinking about what i should do. i can´t Force them get along but i also can´t just leave neither of them, they´re both very good friends and i´d feel hurt if i were to lose any of them. right now they´re spamming my text messages telling me to choose them and leave the other and i don´t know what to tell them since they still don´t listen to reason.
it´s not a life or death matter but i really want help solving this little quarrel between them.
