Why We Need a Female Hero in the Legend of Zelda

Just because LOZ has a male protagonist, doesn't make it misogynist. There are many strong female characters in the LOZ...Midna, Sheik, Tetra etc. there's really no need for link to be randomly reincarnated into a female 'just because'
If you want a game with a strong female main character, there are many already out there. If you wanted a female link, you could have just made that point without overly critizing LOZ and accusing it of being sexist--because it really isn't.
The first line made me realize how bad the rest was going to be. What else can a person be but a grown adult or a young child? Who was phone!?

Anyway, everything here is invalid, and everyone else was giving 1-star ratings so why not me? :P
Just because Link is a male character doesn't mean LoZ is sexist >.< They started with a male character and wanted to keep it original. And we just think it should stay like that. If Nintendo releases another game with a female lead, it would be the same thing. e.e
You must have come from tumblr, haven't you?

This blog makes me sick. There is no need for a female hero in The Legend of Zelda. I'd be more than happy for Nintendo to make a game with a female hero *cough*Metroid*cough*, but it's ridiculous to expect Nintendo to shove a female hero into the Legend of Zelda purely for the sake of having a female hero. And trans issues are not something that need to be included in video games. Video Games are not meant to be taken seriously, and The Legend of Zelda is not misogynist in any way.

Not everything is the patriarchy.
You haven't even been here for very long, yet you act so pompus in the words you say. Your analysis is weak lol.
As a supporter of female rights and NOT feminism, I'm going to just flat out disagree with you.

I get it, everyone wants a piece of that representation pie thus we want Link to be all types of things that we as the player can relate to; as a black male, I get that. What I don't understand is how you undermine other female characters in the Zelda universe and make them seem one dimensional add ons to the protagonist that is Link.
You see, Link does NOT need to be female as you claim, now that might be hard to fathom but level with me for a second. The female game protagonists you listed, are they not gaming icons? Did they not make a statement in the gaming industry? Whether or not you acknowledge they did and if it was good or not is neither here nor there but they indeed made one and it's resonates even now. So WHY would you want a predominantly male hero to suddenly go female when you could gollow the example and have a new IP with a female protagonist who kicks <censored> just as much as Link? I'm just thinking there isn't a beneficial reason behind changing the gender just cause it appeals to you, quite frankly, I wouldn't mind a female protagonist in a Zelda game but don't just shoehorn it as Link; craft a brand new character with endearing traits and an adventure just as big as the one's he goes on.
See this is exactly what I hate. You can't do anything without other people getting mad.
If a story killed a black character, everyone would be up in arms on how you hate black people.
If a you have a male protagonist people think your sexist.

EVERYONE CALM THE HECK DOWN, you can please everyone

If you are going to change something just for the sake of changing it, ie Link becoming female, then there's no point in changing it at all
It'd be better if you explained how this community is sexist.
Also, Sheik is female, so maybe they could just put her in another game and have her do more than give you tips and stuff.
Anyways,
*cough*I call trolling*cough*
