If you haven't noticed recently, Kids TV on Cable (with exception to CN, Smile of a Child and Sprout) have been nothing but rubbish
- Terrible sitcoms
- animated hackjobs (Teen Titans Go! and Breadwinners as examples)
- lousy scheduling
but we're focusing on the stuff we should've gotten (yes, Imports - mostly UK)
You see for years the Kids/Childrens TV market has been playing Monkey in the Middle (metaphorically speaking) with the shows and guess who's the big hairy ape - yes, the USA
Here's a list of some of the quality imports that missed the US airwaves because of rubbish politics within US Kids TV
- Geronimo Stilton
- Hey Duggee
- Bing
- The Dreamstone
- The Wombles
- Sooty (The Longest Running Kid Show In The World)
- Abadas
- Thunderbirds Are Go
- Rastamouse
And what do WE get? RUBBISH. from canada.
While Canada used to make good stuff from the '80s (notably "The Raccoons") to the late 2000s (notably from Nelvana), Kids TV Execs sadly turned Canada into a sausage factory since they are too lazy to take a risk on quality from across the pond hence why we get rubbish like Numb Chucks, Teenage Fairytale Dropouts, EVERY ITERATION of the Total Drama franchise, Almost Naked Animals and Johnny Test!
With cancellations of WordGirl (via the demise of Soup2Nuts) and The Legend of Korra, I feel it's time to expand our reach of content
1. Get a VPN (I highly suggest ZenMate, It's free and it's easy to use)
2. Switch your Blu-ray/DVD player to a region free model
3. Keep your Netflix, Hulu Plus and Amazon Prime subscriptions active
Reasons for #s 1 and 2: by going international via VPNs and Region Free Players - We'll explore shows that execs of Kids TV in the US are too chicken to pick up and HAVE to rely on rubbish via viewing them on PCs and Tablets as well as importing the DVDs of said content if we enjoy them
I've been doing it for a long while now and i can assure you that it can be beneficial to your DVD library as well as your taste in TV shows via expanding your horizons
