I already own a "New 3DS XL" and I personally love it. But I would like to hear YOUR opinions.
SO, while keeping cost, comfort, portability, sturdiness etc. in mind, which one would you chose?
My opinion: 2DS if on a budget, 3DS for portability, 3DS XL for a larger AND affordable choice, and New 3DS XL for all (except budget) combined. So, I would personally go with the NEW 3DS XL. Your opinions?

I own a New 3DS XL myself and I love it. However, the 3DS XL was more comfortable in my hands than this one. But still, I don't regret getting it, the c-stick is quite neat.

Same here :D

The New 3DS XL is essentially the upgraded 3DS XL, so naturally I'd choose that one. However, if you're on a budget, then the 2DS would be better. As for normal 3DS or 3DS XL, it all depends on how big you like your handhelds.

The New 3DS Family seems cool, especially the New 3DS Model, were it had faceplates. And the New 3DS Family had a lot of cool new features like the C stick, new "L and R" Buttons (forgot the name) and faceplates. Wish New 3DS released in North America :(

I personally think that just the new C Stick alone is enough to make most people want ditch their old 3DS and buy a New 3DS. It gets rid of that terrible Circle Pad Pro accessory. And it feels just like the XL did.

I have a red New 3DS XL and haven't played it much, mainly because no games have come out for it that really interest me this year. It's definitely the best version of the 3DS out there tho unless you want something smaller.

I really want a 3DS. I am stuck with a 2DS because it's cheaper. It isn't portable, foldable or enjoyable. It is an ugly slab who willforever haunt you for buying it. I wish I had a 3DS. My friend got the New 3DS XL and I got to try it. I freaked out. IT WAS FOLDABLE, PORTABLE AND ENJOYABLE. I was SO jelly. I want at least just a regular 3DS. I also need some more games I only have 3... and I have 1 game for Wii U. So much to buy with so little money.

I own a new Nintendo 3ds xl and it is just awesome. I like how they made the A B X Y buttons have some color to make it more appealing and how they put the power button on the outside of the 3ds and not on the inside. It is just much easier to turn it on. Although, the c stick and the stylus are a problem for me. The stylus is in a place where its appropriate, but can fall down easily. But it only falls out of the hole just a little bit so it would be easy for me to pull it out. The c stick is what I don't really use because its not that useful in smash. I only find it useful to use the up smash fast in smash because of where its placed but then again anywhere else would be uncomfortable for my hands. It is portable, comfortable, sturdy, and is worth the price. Though i wish they had a cover for it to make it more appealing on the outside. Other than that, the New 3ds xl is worth it.

I have a 3DS XL. I love the size and the screen quality. Though, I have a bit of a problem with the D-pad (the circle-pad) where I always hurt my left thumb playing it for a long period. It never happened to me when I played my original DS. I think it is to do with the thickness of the console, or maybe the D-pad require more strength and for a more prolonged period?

Maybe it is improved for the New 3DS XL. If I have an option I might try New 3DS XL

I stuck with the 3DS XL. Until games that actually interest me, (not xenoblade) I will get it. I felt the c-stick on the nw 3DS XL before, it feels more like a stub. the new 3DS XL seems like a great buy, but trading in your old 3DS XL for 25-50$ for another upgraded version, is just not worth it to me. Th quality and performance of my current 3DS seems fine, until it breaks, or snaps xD, or Nintendo released Pokemon, Zelda, and good games such as MH, FE, I wont buy it.

I also own a New 3DS XL. After having it for about a month, I could not be more satisfied. I traded in my original 3DS for it because I was interested in a larger screen. It's a shame that the regular New 3DS wasn't released in the US. I think it would have been popular. There are definitely people who want a New 3DS without losing portability. I completely agree with your classifications for the 3DS models. That pretty much summarizes what everyone should be considering when selecting a 3DS model.

I've only got the regular 3DS. It's overall decent, provided that it has most basic features and games, but some problems were like the position of the Start and Select buttons which I didn't really like and the glossy screen which made things like fingerprints and dust abundant >.>

I would say that the New 3ds (not the XL) would be the best of all. It quite balances it out and has face plates which was something very unique. the N3DS XL is fine but sometimes people wouldn't want the larger screen which cuts portability

Had? Sorry but this came out 6 months ago almost to the date. I don't think it's long enough to start saying had. In its own right, here in the US the XLS sold like mad compared to the originals. Mind you I have a NEW 3ds and an original, but it does make sense for business to sell the one that florished more in the states.

I don't think it was a failure at all. Parents needed a tougher system design so that their Hard earned cash didn't fly out the window by their kids breaking their handheld. Also some kids can't handle the 3d. I think it worked out perfect for those who bought it for whatever reason. It got a permanent Mark down today for 99.00 bucks which is a deal and half. I have a feeling Nintendo is probably Phasing them out. They will more than likely sell like hotcakes at that price. I might get me one now just to have a backup to my 3DSXL should (knock on wood) anything happen to my 3ds.

New 3ds XL for me.

Don't get me wrong I love my 3DS but I want the newest one, because I hate that the 3D gets blurry when I play in 3D and I would love to not adjust how I'm holding it. Not to mention the screen is huge!

I have a 2ds and i love it! I'm in Europe and as you may already know, the added tax in insanely high, but still, i got it with Pokemon Y AND Luigi's Mansion 2 for just 100 Euros, which is really cheap. It's more portable than you have been led to believe. Same thing goes with the sound quality, sounds great with the ONLY exception being during game chat on pokemon. Also, unlike every other model, it's incredibly sturdy (mine has fallen on the floor 10+ times and still works perfectly), mainly because it doesn't have the clampshell design, so no screen getting lose or connectors getting cut. Finally, the 3d in the normal 3ds just plain annoying, didn't really see the display in 3d, but my eyes hurt after just 5 minutes of playing. The only reason i would get the New 3ds is to play games that are exclusive to it, like Xenoblades, etc.
