what are your thoughts on the camera that's capable of taking 3D photos? take you tried taking some? did they come out well? =3

I don't have a 3DS so of course I haven't been able to try this. Is taking a 3D picture different from just taking a regular picture? If so, how is it different?

The photos aren't that clear on the 3DS, but they certainly are in 3D. You can do some neat stuff with the 3D, they they'll always be blurry.

The camera is alright. It could be worse and could be better. If they can fix the bug from the blurriness then the 3D camera would be an awesome feature for it because it is really fun.

Well, the 3D pictures are awesome but they're really grainy so a smartphone camera is almost always better. (3D pictures look way cooler though!)

I'm not a fan of the 3D camera :panda:

The pictures are grainy and blurry most of the time, and because of this the 3D effect doesn't come out well either. For example, turning on the 3D effect of some photos I took with the 3D camera caused half the image to move aside  It's kind of a novelty to me, really. I haven't used the 3DS camera in ages.

Photo quality is VERY poor but I wasn't expecting the best of the best on a $200 handheld lol. The idea of 3D photo/video taking is nice though. Better than nothing, I must admit, :angelic:

I usually do not take photos with my 3DS regularly but if it's in my pocket, there is a cool photo moment and I do not have any other device at the time I just take it out and take a photo using it. The photo quality is really bad though.

i like it i dont use it much but it is still kinda cool. if they updated the quality i would use it a lot more. but it is still a ok camera.

The 3D image taking function is quite impressive, but the image's quality is too low so I think it is not much useful.

I used to a little bit but right now no. You never know when you'll need that space for more games so you hopefully don't have to get more SD cards. Plus I'd rather show off taking a picture with a regular camera so no one pokes fun at you if you're in a group with other people you know or are taking a picture of.

No, I don't. I don't think I've used it at all in 2014.

The quality is awful, sadly. Besides, I don't have a lot of stuff to take pictures of. :bag:

I've only ever used the camera to take pic.s of iv/ev spreads for pokemon before long car trips, or where to find pokemon that give certain evs, but even that looks really grainy. The 3d pictures work fine, though. Could use some touching up, though. Due to having two cameras, some pictures end up inches to the right or left of where they should be... :/

Think it depends on the lighting. Whenever I take a picture inside, especially if it's dark it looks pretty terrible. Tried to make a video one christmas of family members playing rock band, and it is so grainy that I wouldn't know who was in the video if I wasn't the one filming it. On the other hand, I happened to have it with me on a beach a couple years ago during vacation, and the photos I took there came out very well, and are definitely my best pictures on it.

I think taking pictures in 3D is just bad because I do not think you will ever browse your 3DS gallery with 3D mode on..... It also drains your battery, and the camera also produces really bad quality pictures.

3D pictures probably take up more space than regular 2D photos and offer nothing different. You don't get a better picture and most of the time they are of really poor quality. To be honest, Nintendo should look into leaving off the camera option if it isn't going to produce good photos. The whole application is really for the novelty of making edits, but can't you do that with pretty much every smartphone or tablet by now? I am not saying its useless, but its usefulness is severely limited and leaving it off wouldn't really make an impact on the console (and it would make it a bit cheaper too).

A lot of 3DS games use the camera, so removing the camera altogether would be extreme

Is there an option that removes the 3D effect in pictures? As in, the pictures are saved only as 2D images.

I'm not totally sure. I don't think you can removed 3D from a picture once it has been taken, but you can always take 2D pictures.

I guess I just haven't come across any games which make use of the device. I really like having the Camera option there, but I wish it would produce some better quality photos (moar megapixels).
