Nintendo 3DS Legend
Towns Folk
I have only a handful of games for my 3DS. To list: Pokémon X, Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon, Super Smash Bros for 3DS, Pokémon Alpha Sapphire, Kid Icarus: Uprising, and Pokémon Rumble World.

I was wondering what good are play coins for? Like I noticed you could buy trophies in the smash trophy shop instead of using gold, and in rumble world it let's you invite someone online for 10 coins. But is that really all you do with them? It doesn't seem much for me to actually grind for those coins really. Or do I not have any games that utilize play coins more than what I have?. I have about 200 unused coins .-.

I have like 100, the uses for them aren't that important. You can use them in Mii plaza, 2 PC (3DS Currency) for a puzzle piece, and 1 or 2 PC for hiring heroes. Tho nobody uses it for that, I use it for ACNL you can buy fortune cookies. I don't believe PC have any value in Pokemon games. As you said you can invite people for 10, and buy things in the shops. I just looked it up, you can buy Idol Toss eggs in Kid Icarus Uprising. None of the other games have any usage for Play Coins :/. Hope you find use for them.

Pokemon Shuffle has a huge use for them
They have an in game shop in which you can buy more lives or gems

I never thought about getting shuffle. From what I heard it's like Bejeweled but with Pokémon as the jewels. Well if it has some Play Coin value then it seems rather interesting, although it seems weird they couldn't allow is to use Play Coins in exchange for Diamonds in Rumble World..

You can't use PlayCoins in the Shuffle Shop, only real money. Shuffle doesn't use PlayCoins. I usually use my PlayCoins to buy ore fighter for Streetpass Quest 2 at miiplaza. I used to use them on puzzle pieces but then I found out they are random and you can even get pieces you already have, which pretty much ruined it for me. I also use a bunch in the AR card enter to get all minigames. I don't play with the cards often but oh well, it was cheap.

I wasted a few of mine on Swapnote... that was a bad investment. And I used them to get every idol (besides the special AR only ones) in KIU even though it wasn't an achievement and some of the harder events gave me the same idols I had. I hope in a future update you can transfer Play Coins to people on your FL because I would so pay a tad bit of PC for it.

That would be great! Also I forgot you could use them on idols, I haven't played KIU for way too long. (So now I have plans for next week :p)

3ds Play Coins aren't really something that have any generic value but I guess they are mostly used to get some in-game items and such. I use my play coins mostly on things like the Puzzle Swap and Find Mii games in the StreetPass Plaza, sometimes I use them in KI:U for the idols. Themes for Swapnote. Calling people in Pkmn Rumble World.

They're not really something that have any value to me :p I still have 'bout 40 something :p

Here is an up to date list of how you can use your 3ds play coins- http://nintendo.wikia.com/wiki/Play_Coins
I don't really use play coins on my 3ds. I rarely walk with it but yeah I sometimes collect them so I could collect smash trophies and stuff. Not that the smash trophies do anything but I just buy them any way...

Play coins aren't a big thing really. I have like 155 play coins.

I almost have 300 Play Coins, so in reality I have 298. I usually use them to get Fortune Cookie items in Animal Crossing: New Leaf, hoping that one day, I won't get any more copies of the same item. I also use them when playing Find Mii 2 and rarely when playing Puzzle Swap. Other than that, I have no use for them.

Play Coins aren't really that important. Sure, they can occasionally help you out in some games, and they're essential to playing the StreetPass games by yourself, but other than that they serve no purpose. The process of gaining Play Coins is basically the same way you StreetPass other people (assuming you carry your 3DS with you outside), so you may as well just collect them anyways.
