My 3DS XL seems to be going a little heywire. Last night, it froze up, I turned it back on but nothing showed up on the screens, it several power button pushes to get it back on. Today, it was acting up again, I had it in sleep mode, when I opened it up, it stayed in sleep mode & again it took several power button pushed & a few adjustments to get it working again. Could those problems be a sign that Nintendo is shutting support off for the original 3DS XL since those New 3DS XL are out in stores?

I don't think it's any kind of sign. My Old 3DS is still kicking and going strong. Although since your XL may be quite a few years old it may have some issues like that when trying to do basic processes. Sometimes my Old 3DS may freeze and take forever to power off and what not. How long has it been since you last played on it, sometimes not playing on it for a while may cause that to happen, plus the 3DS may take a while to load some things for the newer updates (like my 3DS took a while to get used to theme support). If it isn't anything major that renders it completely useless, the effect should wear off within a few days.

Think of the new 3ds like the dsi. It never affected old hardware, it was only there for improvements. So that is a no. Your 3ds needs to be factory reset, probably then it will work. But I have never seen this problem, my 3ds xl works smoothly. Mine is 2 years old. It may start turning back to normal in a few days like np said.

Sorry for the twin post, stupid internet >. <

If you are having such severals big problems then i think you send it to nintedo care or call nintedo helpline if possible .

Even sometimes my nintedo 3ds xl stops respoding when i am playing on it ,once my power button was not working which was really weired then after few min it respond .

Try hold the power button for 10 seconds, then release for 2 seconds, hold for another 10 seconds then release and press once

Wait for a new update, then it can be fixed.

On bootup, press L+R+Up (on dpad)+A. Tell me what happens.

What? How would that do anything? When systems start to screw up, it is because some form of data has failed to install on your system. It happened to my dsi xl in the past and my 3ds. A simple system update will fix it, so once nintendo releases another update, it should be fine.

Do you know what that button combo even is?

It's called recovery mode. It does exactly what the name entails. You can use it if data is corrupt and you need to update. Which is exactly what you are talking about.

All that does is a screenshot, but god knows, if that is the case, then that exactly was what I was talking about. Alright, never mind. Then that should work for his 3ds.

L+R is screenshot.

You have to hold the 4 buttons I mentioned while the system is booting up.

Yeah. He's been inactive, but I'd like to know the results...

Same... Very curious, would be nice to see how it works. That can potentially fix bricked consoles
