If you don't, they are a mushroom.
But they are also DESKTOP BUDDIES THAT JUMP ON YOUR DESKTOP!
YOU CAN HAVE 10, YOU CAN HAVE 20, YOU CAN MULTIPLY THEM, YOU CAN GET RID OF THEM! THEY ARE SHIMEJIS!
(If you have mac, there are some shimejis that you can use (3% of all shimejis have mac versions.) Amazing!)
I am going to show you the magic of them in this thread to hope spread across pedia to cool-ness of them!!

SHIMEJI COME IN TWO "FLAVORS!"
Calm - This one just jumps around on your desktop and looks adorable.
Mischievous - Same as calm, but sometimes literally throws your windows off the screen when not maximized. They also m u l t i p l y like the plague (usally a maximum of 50!)
Sometimes shimejis have only a mishievous version or only a calm version, because the creator of the shimeji is too lazy to edit it (me). Of course, you can edit the files and make them cute or crazy!
There are many shimeji. You can look them up on the internet and download them, and you can also use tutorials of these cuties if they don't work or something is wrong.
Here is a nintendo pack of shimejis. Also note: THERE ARE ANIME SHIMEJI OF ALL KINDS AND MANY MORE THINGS: EVEN MORE NINTENDO SHIMEJIS THAN THIS! :
