I may sound dumb with these questions, but I have never seen the tarantula or scorpion in any AC game. Ever. I've seen, like, 2 videos on YouTube. That's it. I'm mainly just curious, that's all. xD

For one, if you get stung/bit/whatever, what happens afterward? Is it like when you get stung by bees, or do you come out of your house as if nothing happened, or what? If I ever have to catch these things, I wanna know so that I don't freak out if I fail (which I know will likely happen. If I succeed, I wanna know because I never had to deal with it xD)

So I know already that when you take out your net, that's when they go ballistic (you should know what I'm saying here). What if you have another tool out, like, say a fishing rod? I think they just mind their own business until the net comes out, but idk for sure.

What times/seasons do they spawn? I could Google this one, but I'm kind of lazy right now......

Thanks in advance.

You haven't seen one because I don't think you've owned the game during the times they spawn. Scorpions appear in July and continue to for the following two months, while Tarantulas appear in June and continue to for the following two months. You can find them from 7PM to 4AM during their respective months, so you want to play at night if you want to get them although they're pretty uncommon so you may be out for a while. I recommend only walking and not having too many tress in your town if you can help it because you might just suddenly walk into one hidden behind a tree and it'll freak you out.

If one catches you, you'll appear in front of your house and it'll have disappeared, nothing else. When you see a Scorpion, I'd recommend taking out your net and holding A as you walk towards it so that when you're able to catch it, you catch it before it reacts. Tarantulas are considered trickier to catch because they're crazier, but you can do the same thing with Scorpions usually.

I have all four AC games and I time travel a lot, so not owning the game at the time they spawn isn't the problem. I never saw a shark until New Leaf though, so it's likely just because they were too rare.

I was experimenting just recently and found out if you hold A with the net and creep-walk, you can switch tools without letting go of A, and also vice versa if you hold A before hand. I think that new feature is what makes them easier to catch (by comparison to older games)

I can imagine why Tarantulas might be more difficult. After looking on the wiki, it said they can jump short ledges/heights, so using the method some people use involving trapping it on a lower area and catching it as it goes up the ledge is trickier with them.

As I said, I Time Travel, so the night time thing isn't a problem. I might have to chop down a bunch of trees though and replant them in just one spot, which might take a while, but I've been meaning to do that for a while.

Thanks, @Icemario :)

Yea what @Icemario said also they they are the hardest bugs to catch so if u see one dont try to let them bite you catch one first and then try out the biting thing. but if u want and try to look where your flowers/grass have died i find they tend to hang out around there.

I have the beautiful ordinance set where flowers never die, so that won't work.

I've lately been setting the clock to later at night to catch other bugs that can only be found then (mosquitos, moths, etc) so if one pops up I'll try to catch it, but I've been kind of paranoid of not having my net out for whatever reason even though I haven't seen one. Apparently they are more rare than sharks (because I actually do get a few sharks at night in my town)
