according to this early player, it took him about 10 mins from hitting the new game button to reach and beat the first dungeon after getting your sword and watching cut scenes.

I enjoy a short game but this game could be a bit too short.

Well this is an interesting topic, doesn't the game at the starting has tutorials, and I read some of the comments and they stated that because it's a continuation towards A Link To The Past doesn't that mean that the game goes right into the action also maybe its just an early start towards the game, I doubt the author (early player) will judge the game on it's beginning sequence, you never know maybe the game will be lengthy
