A live action Pokemon Movie?

As long as they don't try adapting the anime into it, I'm all for this.

No, no. kill it with fire before it lays eggs. If live action movies based on video games have taught us anything, it's that they never work. I honestly wouldn't mind seeing something based off the manga at least. But with the games and the anime it just really wouldn't work that well.

Live action movies of games can work, it's just very unlikely to do so since the team involved usually don't put proper effort into making it good and/or faithful to the game. (An example of a good game movie (Which admittedly was a short webisode series turned film but still) is Halo: Forward Unto Dawn.)

I agree with panda. If the team working on the live action movie puts the proper effort into making it good and faithful to the game, then it would be a success. But if it turns out like how @Edward Elric said, then it might not exactly work out lol. Let's just hope they properly make the movie to where people that are fans of the Pokemon games can properly enjoy them and not be completely disappointed by the lack of effort put into them.

Uh... yeah I heard about it :panda:
From what we've seen in history, most video games and live action movies don't mix well together, Hollywood just simply doesn't seem to be able to nail it, it's like they didn't understand the industry. I just hope it doesn't end up as a mess, just to be remembered alongside the likes of Dragon Ball and Super Mario Bros. xD I also hope it's not based off any sort of existing material, seeing something fresh would be interesting (as long as GRMEFREAK keeps an eye on it lol)

Omg no, pls no, just... No.

I hate live-action adaptations of video games clearly not compatible with the live action medium.

I think that such a think wouldn't blend together pretty well. Sure it is nice to hear, but what if the live action movie turned out to be disappointing to majority of fans of Pokemon. I've seen some good live action movies for other things but with Pokemon, I wouldn't count on it much.

Uh... It could work, if they did it right, but 78% of the time, they screw up. I'm not sure how it would work, but I may be interested. Just don't mess up, and they'll get cash in a new, interesting way. ( The Pokemon battles... How would that work..... )

I wouldn't mind a live action version. I just wouldn't think the plot would be very intriguing. We would basically know what already happens (mainly like Pokemon Origins) unless they decided to make a Pokemon movie based on Orre region only setting up everything in the real world. I can imagine having a biker club and the main hero coming from a small town with Pokemon given to him from his grandparents.

Oh my god no, no just no. I don't think Pokemon and live action mix very well together. It's either gonna turn out very bad or pretty decent I guess, but I'm not sure if it's gonna be really good. :panda: Let's just hope for the best.

Sounds interesting enough. Although, I'm not sure if realism + pokemon will make a good movie that pokemon fans will actually enjoy. But I salute the Pokemon company for their big leap in a direction they've never taken before. Now we wait for a trailer lol.

Not really a fan of live movies of stuff that started originally seen as an anime. It kills the consistency of the series for me. I'd rather have one way of viewing a character rather than a human and a cartoon version. If it comes out, I most likely won't be that juiced for it. I'll probably look at the characters and how they animated the Pokemon and then stop :p realism and Pokemon is ehhhh :/ It'll be interesting to see how they animate the Pokemon tho.

I heard of this. And I fear what the Pokémon would look like. They can't look realistic because that would scare little kids who know about the series and are playing/watching it but the Pokémon would look a tad out of place looking like they do in the anime/games (though I would love that).

I only fear that they goof in some way. Like in Dragonball, where the freak was Krillin? He is the main characters right hand man and he wasn't even there. Or in the Last The Airbender Sokka had his name butchered and...you guys know. And let's not mention mention Mario Bros.

I seen only one love action movie that was true-ish to the original and that was Death Note. Then again how could you get Death Note wrong?

But I hope that if they get the okay from Nintendo that they do the series justice.

The movie could be good if they do the animations well. Along with that, there should be some other main protagonist other than Ash. All 721+ Pokémon (Not all, but don't stick to Gen 1)should be included. If they do all that, I believe the movie would be good! :D

Nintendo might try to push them in to it since they just announced they're going to start making full cinematic movies, but really they don't have any say

I don't really think they'll make a live action Pokemon movie tbh nor do I want one

Our childhoods will be ruined...

Live action movies very rarely work when it comes to games and anime so I am rather doubtful that it would turn out to well cause we all seen what happen when they wanted to do a dragon ball z movie. It ruined all of our childhoods. I think I saw this trailer and I think it turned out to be a fake plus the pokemon look creepy in it lol.
