I have owned a 3DS for 3 months but I have just known about this recently. So I want to ask a few questions:
1. Can I transfer games from another one's system which is far away to mine ?
2. Will my data be deleted after transfering if my system is the receiving one?
3. What will happen to my Nintendo Network ID and the sending system's ID?

1. No, the 3DSes have to be within range of each other, as near as possible really. An internet connection is also required, so I recommend that you place the two 3DSes together next to a router. Also, both 3DSes must have the same region (NA/EU/JAP).
2. The system data will be deleted. As for the SD card data: Like it says in the link @3dsatackman posted, you can choose if the SD card data is deleted or not but:
  • Save files will be overwritten
  • Downloaded software will become unusable, but since you'll be able to redownload it no damage will be really done
3. The receiving system is not allowed to have an NNID linked to it for a transfer, you'll have to remove the NNID on the receiving system. You'll be able to link an NNID to it after the transfer is done.

Good luck :D
